Poole Swimming Club Masters

💛 British Masters Champs 2026 💛

A small but mighty group of PSC Masters swimmers made the 600 mile journey from Poole to Aberdeen to compete in this year's British Masters champs. Out of the 11 individual races swim between the 4 of us, we brought back 2 x 🥇, 4x🥈 and 4x🥉 age group medals.

Liam - after an unlucky run with injuries earlier in the season, Liam put in a big block of training and had a breakthrough meet in Aberdeen, with PBs in his 50m fly and 50m back, and was part of Basingstoke's mens 160+ relay team who won 4 gold's and a new British Record. 

Karen - raced the 100m breaststroke and 50m breaststroke with encouraging performances, despite not feeling 100%. With a lot of gym work in the bank this year, this best is definitely still yet to come 💪🏻

Nuala - raced the 200,400,800 and 1500m free and if that wasn't enough also won 🥇in the 4x200 fr relay. Standout performance was her 400m free, saving her best til the last race of the weekend 😁

Naomi - sadly no breaststroke due to a knee injury, Naomi got to enjoy racing some other strokes this year, getting big PBs in the 50m free and 50m back

⭐ Bracknell Masters Open Meet 2026 ⭐

We had some really impressive performances and took away medals in all the relays that we contested - men's 4x50 FC & Medley, mixed 4x50 fly, as well as the tandem relay where we finished an impressive 2nd

A number of swimmers hit new PBs including Eoin competing for the first time in 25 years and Tom in the 50fc relay

Alan braved a serious case of man flu to take a 4 sec age group PB in the 100 back and first time under 29 seconds in the 50 FC in 37 years...

Nuala completed a 200fly for the first time since 2012, securing a Meet Best Time, Poole masters record and south west region record in the process

Paige beat all her entry times and picked up a gold in the 200 breaststroke

Gavin⁩ got a huge PB in the 200fc, taking a new Poole masters club record in the process, and got a new fastest 50 FC relay split

Liam picked up a couple of new Met Best Times as well as club & south west region masters records in the 50&100 BK & possibly the 50 FC if the lead out of a relay is counted 🤷‍♂️

Finally Naomi⁩ got 4 new MBTs, club masters records, a new senior club record and two new lifetime PBs!
