Good luck to our 6 swimmers representing East Wales in Sheffield on the weekend at the County Champs! 🐬👏🏻 Swim Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

🤞 Six members of Torfaen Dolphins are representing East Wales this weekend in the National County Championships. The team is heading to Sheffield's Ponds Forge pool for the prestigious competition on Sunday 4 October.

East Wales will compete in the Division 1 league and West Wales is in the Division 2 league.

Tom Croke, head coach at Torfaen Dolphins, said: "The best swimmers from across that county in each of those individual events compete for their county against each other and the team with the most points becomes the best county team in Britain.

"We've got two who are making their debut on this, Gayle Lawn is going into the team for the first time, and Zach Williams is making his debut for East Wales.

"For these guys, it's massive. It'll be huge. If you can make that team, it's like you know you're one of the best swimmers in that event in the region and you get to compete against the best swimmers in Britain."

The six swimmers are Theodora Taylor, Emme Sherrard, Pip Sweet-Roberts, Gayle Lawn, Maximus Major and Zach Williams.

📸 Five members of the Torfaen Dolphins squad who've been picked for East Wales. Emme Sherrard couldn't make training this evening.
