I've currently got a good number of great retro rods from the 70's, 80's and 90's... Abu's, Daiwa's and, the cream of the crop, a 14ft 1977 Hardy Match Maker in stunning condition. If you fancy something a bit different, or want to go on a fishing nostalgia trip, pop in and have a look - not many older ones on display, so just ask me what I have, more than happy to get them out for a look by the prospective new owners.🐟🎣

I've managed to secure a delivery of maggots for tomorrow (Sat 15th Aug) Its a morning delivery so should be there by 12 o'clock. They'll stay fresh for the coming week. Still got plenty of worms in stock as well.

I've been trying to source some maggots all week... its a real struggle as the weather is playing havoc with the supplies. My regular provider is trying their best to get me a delivery for Saturday morning, so fingers crossed, as the weather cools down we can get back to normal. In the meantime, I do have worms (despite what the doctor said ;-) ), and plenty of pellets and fake baits.

There's been a lot of Sea fishing activity lately..... Plenty of Mackeral around, along with the Pollack and some pretty impressive Bass.... I have got some 10ft Beachcasters in, to go with the 13 and 14ft ones. If you're heading for the coast and fancy a bit of fishing, pop in and grab some gear.... apart from affordable rods and reels, I have a great selection of rigs and lines. I also have frozen bait.... Sand Eels, Sprats, Herring and Mackeral.

I'll need to close a little early tomorrow (Sat 25th Jul) at 12.45, due to a hospital appointment. I have a had a fresh bait delivery today, so plenty of fresh maggots and worms in stock. Maggots are getting increasingly more difficult to source as this hot spell extends. Hopefully we've had the hottest now and things will start to cool down..... with a bit of rain to help the rivers and lakes out. Thanks all.

I'll be closed on Saturday 11th July and open again as usual from Tue 14th. A bit of R&R attending my other interest at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Enjoy the weekend all, and try to keep cool. Cheers.

I'm heading North again on Saturday 20th June.... Closing at 16.00 on Friday 19th, I'll be checking out the local rivers and hostelries to make sure they're still up to standard 😉.... Sadly, I will also be attending a family funeral, so will not be reopening until Friday 26th, at 09.15. Hope you're all getting stuck into the new season and look forward to catching up with you all over the coming months.

Due to a failed landline in the shop, and what appears to be the inability to repair (Its still on the old copper - however broadbad is working!!) I am moving to a mobile number. The new shop number is 07729 864902 - this will be in use during normal shop hours. For those of you that have my personal mobile number, carry on with that if you wish. Its probably going to take a while to get the message around so bear with me. :-)

Weathers looking pretty hot for the next week or so, but lets hope it doesn't dry everything up like it dd last year.... my recent extended holiday is well over, and its time to start getting the Summer stock ready. I think there is something for everyone in the shop... whether your. a Match, Carp, Fly, Seaor just general fisherman (person). I had a visit from some of our American cousins this week.... and the ringleader Monica nearly cleaned me out of the Spring/early Summer Flys - so probably time to re stock....😃I'm about to order some more So Simple groundbaits and ready to Go's, and will make sure the maggots and worms are in tip top condition. Come in and have a look round - there are some great new and used bargains to be had, whatever kind of fishing you're into. Don't forget that I also have workshop facilities for Carbon fibre repairs - everything from a basic ring replacement to a full pole repair. I've even been known to do a bit of metalwork😀 Look forward to seeing you over the coming months.

Finally back from my travels and will be open again tomorrow, 21st May, and back to usual hours. Looking forward to the upcoming season.
