I'm heading North again on Saturday 20th June.... Closing at 16.00 on Friday 19th, I'll be checking out the local rivers and hostelries to make sure they're still up to standard 😉.... Sadly, I will also be attending a family funeral, so will not be reopening until Friday 26th, at 09.15. Hope you're all getting stuck into the new season and look forward to catching up with you all over the coming months.

Due to a failed landline in the shop, and what appears to be the inability to repair (Its still on the old copper - however broadbad is working!!) I am moving to a mobile number. The new shop number is 07729 864902 - this will be in use during normal shop hours. For those of you that have my personal mobile number, carry on with that if you wish. Its probably going to take a while to get the message around so bear with me. :-)

Weathers looking pretty hot for the next week or so, but lets hope it doesn't dry everything up like it dd last year.... my recent extended holiday is well over, and its time to start getting the Summer stock ready. I think there is something for everyone in the shop... whether your. a Match, Carp, Fly, Seaor just general fisherman (person). I had a visit from some of our American cousins this week.... and the ringleader Monica nearly cleaned me out of the Spring/early Summer Flys - so probably time to re stock....😃I'm about to order some more So Simple groundbaits and ready to Go's, and will make sure the maggots and worms are in tip top condition. Come in and have a look round - there are some great new and used bargains to be had, whatever kind of fishing you're into. Don't forget that I also have workshop facilities for Carbon fibre repairs - everything from a basic ring replacement to a full pole repair. I've even been known to do a bit of metalwork😀 Look forward to seeing you over the coming months.

Finally back from my travels and will be open again tomorrow, 21st May, and back to usual hours. Looking forward to the upcoming season.

With the bank holiday coming up I'll have plenty of fresh bait and groundbait in for the long weekend. Also, a quick reminder, after I close on Saturday 2nd May, I'll be away for a fortnight - a longer pre season break this year, in a slightly colder climate. Back on the 20th May and looking forward to the Summers fishing ahead. I am snowed under with some great used reels at the moment, from the iconic Abu 501/506 to some nice Okuma baitrunners, along with the usual classic Mitchells. I've even got a couple of Shimano match reels in, all at fantastic prices. Pop in and have a look this week. Thanks all for your support.

I need to be closed this Friday, 10th April, to attend to a personal matter of some importance. I will be open again Saturday 11th as normal, and barring any disasters, normal hours for the rest of the month. As a little advanced notice, I am closing next month for 2 weeks while I take my longest holiday in over 25 years. I'll publish exact dates nearer the time. At the end of May we can start planning for the season ahead.... lets hope the weather is kind to us this year. While I'm on here, I have quite a few really nice Abu 501/506, and some good 1970's/80's Mitchells... all 300's and 410's, unfortunately no 440A autobails. Well worth a look at all my used reel stock, some very nice ones amongst them. See you all soon. 🐟🙂

I am awash with some great new and used tackle at the moment - reels, Abu, Shimano, Daiwa Okuma and many more - Rods, Daiwa, Brownng, Shakespeare, Rodcraft (on North Western blanks), Middy, and again, many more. Anything you need fo the new season, new and used. Chairs, Beds.... a few Cyprinus Bivvies left and dozens of used, but great quality Brollies. I've still got a great Preston X5 Match Seat and some Shakespeare and Daiwa plastic seat boxes. Be worth while popping in for a browse. :-)

On Saturday 28th Feb I will make another attempt to head "up North" for a few days.... Car is being sorted tomorrow so hopefully this time I'll get further than Westlea....🙄 I'll be closing at 16.00 tomorrow and re opening on Thursday 5th March. I have got fresh bait in now, so it you need any while I'm away, pick it up tomorrow.... it will easily last a week. Weather looking half decent for a bit of time on the water. Cheers all

Due to unforeseen circumstances I will now be open next week - my cars engine management system decided to request an urgent oil change as I departed ths morning, so rather than risk engine issues I have delayed departure until I have sorted it - maybe next weekend, garage permitting🤔 Hopefully see you in the week. I will be getting fresh bait in, and there are plenty of other desirables around the shop. :-)
