Fabulous UK🇬🇧Diving, M2, Countess of Erne, HMS Landrail and the Royal Adelaide.

A huge thank you to Al and Freda for 2 wonderful days diving out of Portland over the weekend aboard Sea Leopard😎🤩🤿☀️

Saturday dawned beautifully sunny but a little breezy. However we rounded a choppy Portland Bill and were rewarded with 7/8 metres of viz on the M2 submarine and had the whole site to ourselves. This is an iconic dive and to explore it with great viz was an absolute treat🤩🤩

After having enjoyed Freda’s delicious cakes, we dropped onto the wreck of the Countess Of Erne where, despite less viz than the M2 we had a great dive with plenty to see including loads of Nudibranches and macro marine life 😊

Yesterday was one of those days you dream of!! Sunshine, calm seas and 2 sites that were new to us 😊😊

Dive one was on the wreck of the HMS Landrail. This was an absolute gem with the biggest congers we had ever seen, lobsters, huge shoals of Bib and predatory Bass hunting over the sandy sea bed that surrounds the wreck…an amazing dive and we will be returning to it!🤩🤿

For dive 2 we were just yards off Chesil Beach to dive the wreck of the Royal Adelaide. A number of the group had attempted to “shore dive” this site in the past, but clambering up and down Chesil makes it a real challenge and it is notoriously difficult to find!!

However, Skipper Al made short work of locating the wreck and “Hot Dropping” us smack bang on this historic wreck🙏🙏🙏

Congers, lobsters, crawfish and even a couple of Bearded Rockling packed the wreckage and the weekend finished with yet another belting dive🎉🎉🎉

A fantastic weekend of UK diving, thanks so much Al and Freda 🇬🇧🤩😎🤿

Stunning conditions at Vobster Quay Inland Diving Centre this weekend with great weather and fabulous visibility…. A great way for new divers to begin their underwater adventure🤩😎🤿

Ashley, Oscar, Lee and Luke are all now brand new PADI Open Water Divers, huge congratulations to you all🎉🎉

They all worked extremely hard, it was absolutely fantastic to see their skills and confidence soar over the weekend… all four of them are now incredibly excited about continuing their diving and looking forward to the amazing dive sites they will see🤿🤿

It was also lovely to have Avril and Jodie with us on Saturday and seeing their new buddy pairing flourishing😍

Avril enjoyed it so much yesterday, that she returned again today with her son Ollie who was getting back into the water for the first time for a little while… they enjoyed two great dives and we hope to see much more of them diving together very soon🤩

A thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying weekend and thanks to all at Vobbie for all the support and help… Thanks also to the fab Scuba Blue team for all their work over the weekend🙏🙏🙏

Next weekend brings our first trip of the season to Lundy Island to play with the seals with Lundy Diving… We can’t wait to get back to this special place 😎😍🤿🦭🦭🦭

👏 Huge congratulations to Ella, for achieving her PADI Seal Team certification! What a superstar she is!⭐️

Over the 5 PADI Seal Team Aqua-missions, Ella has worked incredibly hard to master the skills needed for this certification. From mask clearances to snorkel regulator exchanges, she tackled all the skills with an amazing attitude and has been a real pleasure to teach. Her careful listening and mindful approach to diving has made her an excellent, controlled young diver!😀👏👏👏

Ella was joined in the pool by her mum, little brother, auntie and grampy for her qualifying pool session… So it’s safe to say that a passion for scuba diving definitely runs in her family!🥰🤿💦

Well done Ella and we can’t wait to see where your scuba diving journey takes you next!!👏

What a fantastic mid week couple of days on Red Alert, diving the best Plymouth has to offer 😎🤩🤿☀️

On Thursday we dived the Persier with 6/7 metres viz and were treated to a monster Anglerfish as well as all the other marine life this wreck has to offer😊.

Then it was off to the Mewstone Ledges where we saw that the octopus invasion of last year is continuing this season with multiple sightings🐙🐙🐙

This morning, with even calmer seas it was off to Eddystone to dive the reef below the lighthouse…. Superb viz of approx 12m and yet more octopus encounters in amongst the beautiful Jewel Anemones, Colourful Cuckoo wrasse, catsharks, lobsters and gorgeous jellies 🪼

Finally, we finished our 2 day midweek dive charters with a dive on the wreck of the James Eagan Layne which, as usual, delivered its stunning marine life including some huge Pollack and Conger eels🤩🤿

A HUGE THANK YOU to skipper Danny for the amazing service, great humour, pasties, doughnuts, muffins and sweeties 🍬🍩, we can’t wait till we return in August for more Red Alert awesomeness 🤩🤿🤩🤿🤩

Massive congratulations to Daniel Dermody for the fabulous achievement of reaching the level of PADI Master Scuba Diver 🎉🎉🎉

Dan came to us to do his drysuit course and since then has become a hugely valued part of the Scuba Blue family 😍

This man just does not stop diving, wherever the diving is good, you will find Dan🤿🤿.

All that diving has certainly paid dividends and, if you ever get buddied up with Dan, you can be sure of an absolutely solid buddy and great company 🤩🤩

Dan’s wife Hannah has also caught the diving bug and has completed her Open Water, Drysuit and Advanced Open water already this year… she is hot on your heels Dan 😂😂

Here’s to many many more years of great diving 😎🤿

A very busy and hugely rewarding weekend at Vobster Quay Inland Diving Centre running PADI Advanced Open Water, Drysuit, Navigation and Enriched Air Nitrox courses 🎉😎🤿

Matt, Gary and Sam all flew through the advanced course completing Deep, Navigation, Drysuit, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Wreck and SMB dives. They are all now qualified to dive to 30m and take with them a huge amount of knowledge and skills collected during the course👍👍👍

Lokes, Dan and Paul made 3 dives to complete their Navigation Specialty. They all showed a great understanding of compass work and bearings and successfully guided us around the lake showing off their newfound skills 🤩🤩🤩

Tom and Hannah travelled all the way from Aberystwyth to become the first people to complete 2 Scuba Blue courses in one day 😳😳.

During the morning session they completed their drysuit certification having only ever experienced warm water diving before. They both loved the drysuit experience and looked totally at home in slightly chillier waters than they are used to😂😂

We then made use of the fabulous new classroom at Vobster to deliver the Enriched Air/ Nitrox certification to both of them, whilst enjoying delicious coffee and jacket spuds from the food wagon … congratulations guys and we look forward to seeing you again for more UK diving 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

It was lovely to see Meg complete her drysuit course on Saturday, she has worked really hard and, as someone who really feels the cold, we hope this will lead to more UK🇬🇧 diving… Well done Meg 🤿👍

It was also lovely to see Scuba Blue club members joining us over the weekend 😊

On Saturday, Avril and Jodie formed a brand new buddy pairing and completed 2 independent dives… hopefully this is the start of a lovely new pairing up of divers😊🤿

We were also joined on Saturday by Steve and Darren who jumped in to enjoy the lake … sorry for the lack of a photo boys.

Finally, this morning Gary paired up with one of our newer divers, Hannah, to help her build her dive experience and confidence. They completed 3 lengthy dives, at depth, despite the fact that Hannah was in a wetsuit 🥶🥶This shows great enthusiasm and love of diving… bet you can’t wait for your drysuit to arrive back from being repaired at O'Three Ltd though Hannah 😂

Well done to you all, it is fabulous to see the UK dive scene thriving and long may it last 😎🤿😎

Finally, thanks to all at Vobster and to all the Scuba Blue Pro Team for delivering such a fabulous weekend 🙏🙏😎🤿

👏Huge congratulations to our newest PADI Master Seal Team member, Ethan, who has worked incredibly hard to master all the skills needed to gain this fantastic young diver certification🤿👏

From night diving, a dive against debris, mastering buoyancy, compass work, wreck diving, using an underwater camera and more, Ethan has shown fantastic ability and it has been fabulous to see all his hard work pay off as he’s grown in confidence, control and skill🤿💦

🎉Well done Ethan, this summer is going to be amazing… Next stop the PADI Junior Open Water course and your certification to explore lakes and oceans to a depth of 12m! It’s time to come face to face with the fish!!🤿🐠🥰

A wonderful day today at Chesil Cove running our own Scuba Blue UK Coastal Diving spec🤿😎☀️

This course helps give our divers confidence to plan and complete their own shore dives around the UK by giving them a better understanding of how weather and tides affect our choices of dive sites. We also spend time thinking about all the other considerations you need to keep in mind when planning your own dive day😊

We had a great day with Luke, Jess and Stu, all of whom will now be able to successfully arrange coastal trips more confidently👍👍

Chesil was flat, calm and lovely with around 6 metres viz after a week of easterlies meant everything was nice and settled. Early season marine life included Tompots, lobsters, Top Knots, loads of jellies and Wrasse.

However, the undisputed stars 🌟 of the show today were the 2 wonderful octopus we spotted, one of which was perfectly happy to sit upright outside his den to let us admire him🐙🐙🐙

It was also great to see Tom from O'Three with Chloe and David who came down for their own dive and swim😍

A fantastic day at the coast in the sunshine and thanks to the fab Scuba Blue staff who supported us and our divers both underwater and on the surface… A great day🤿🤩😎
