🟑 RIP Joe Oliver ❀️

Everyone at the Telford Snooker League was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of long-serving league player Joe Oliver.

Joe represented Maddocks for over five decades, making him one of the league's longest-serving and most respected players. He was renowned as a tough one-frame competitor who, on his day, was capable of beating anyone. His determination, sportsmanship and love for the game earned him the respect of players across the league.

Sadly, Joe became ill and fought his illness with great courage over the past year. He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him, both on and off the baize.

Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with Joe's family, friends and all at Maddocks during this difficult time.

RIP Alan Turner

Everyone connected with the Telford Snooker League was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Alan Turner.

Alan was involved in the Telford Snooker League from the very beginning and was one of the true characters and gentlemen of the local game. He was an ex-Shropshire finalist, a former Telford Individual Champion, and many will also remember Alan for running the old Wellington Billiard Hall, which played such a huge part in local snooker over the years.

Alan also served the league as both Chairman and President and dedicated countless hours to helping and supporting local snooker.

On a personal note, when the current committee took over three years ago, Alan was extremely helpful during that changing of the guard and offered a great deal of support and advice. That help was very much appreciated and will never be forgotten.

Alan will be sadly missed by everyone connected with the Telford Snooker League and the wider snooker community.

Our thoughts are with Alan’s family and friends at this difficult time.

Funeral details and donation information will be added once confirmed.

Rest in peace Alan. ❀️
