Nevill Summer Ball

What a wonderful evening at the Nevill Golf Club Charity Ball on 6th June 2026 hosted by our captains Sean Sayers & Alison Lush.

We were delighted to welcome 100 guests for a fantastic night of fundraising in support of Brains Matter Charity and the Lady Captain's chosen charity, Friends of Tunbridge Wells Hospital "Help a Heart" campaign.

A huge thank you to Miranda and her team for their excellent hospitality, Pedro and the Soul & Season team for the outstanding food and our live singer/DJ for keeping the dance floor full all night.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event. Your generosity helped make the evening a tremendous success, and we look forward to seeing you again next year!

Our 2024 Captain Steve Daly took part in the England Captains qualifier at Crowborough Beacon Golf Club on Tuesday, 2nd June.

Despite the thunder and lightning and multiple stops in play, the field of 120 managed to complete their rounds.

The tough conditions were reflected in the scores returned and Steve just managed to sneak into 6th place with a stableford score of 34 points to take the last qualifying spot.

Steve will now play in the South regional finals at Enfield GC in August to try and qualify for the grand final at Woodhall Spa, the home of England Golf

Friday Greensomes - May

Thank you very much to everyone who played in the May competition – the second Friday 9 hole event of the season.

What an evening it turned out to be! The rain held off and the competition was fiercely fought between the 1st, 2nd and 3rd winning couples as all had to have their scores determined by countback over the last 6, 3 and 1 hole! There was also a tie for nearest the pin on the 12th!

Afterwards a delicious curry buffet prepared by Pedro and his team was enjoyed by all.

Congratulations to the winners who were as follows:

First place – Lesley Glass & Nick Pierce - 20 points (on countback)
Second place – Paula & Tim Taylor - 20 points (on countback)
Third place – Sarah & Stephen Mullen - 20 points (on countback)

We also had 2 nearest the pin competitions. The winners were:

12th hole – nearest the pin in 1 – Sarah & Stephen Mullen and Junko Wates & Simon Smith
18th hole - nearest the pin in 3 or less – Jay Harvey & Sean Sayers

There was only one birdie:
10th hole – Julie & Mark Edwards

Men’s Sussex Handicap Knockout Success

Great result by the Nevill Men’s Sussex Knockout Trophy (Birchwood) Team. Playing against a strong and experienced Copthorne Team they came out winners 5-0.

Now into the third round. Well done all the squad and supporters.

Vets Cup Winner

Congratulations to Tony Lazenby for winning the Veterans Cup. This is Tony’s first Honour’s Board win in 10 long years. Well done Laz.

Men’s Winter League

Congratulations to the 2026/27 Winter League Champions, Nick Pierce and Geoff Smith. Very well played, gentlemen, and a big thank you to everyone who took part in this year’s competition. Roll on the winter!

Glorious day out there on the course. We had over 100 players taking part in our first major men’s competition of the season, the Howarth Trophy. Well done to Mark Vivian who posted the winning score of 40 points. 🏆

At Nevill Golf Club we’re doing our bit to support and promote wildlife. Over the last 24 months we’ve installed 45 bird boxes, including owl boxes, which will help provide safe nesting spaces through the breeding season.

In conjunction with Folly Wildlife Rescue juvenile birds, including tawny owls & sparrowhawks were released on the course in 2025.

Thank you to our members for their contributions and to Men’s Shed for making the nest boxes.
