Just one week to go until our Big Hello sessions begin! 👋

We can’t wait to welcome you all and watch those first friendships start to form before September arrives.

Some sessions are now fully booked, lots are filling up nicely, and a few are still looking a bit quiet…

June tickets are on sale…. Please buy some. 

We’ll level with you: the sun came out and you all went outside. Completely reasonable. We’d have done the same. 

But, if you do find yourself inexplicably bored of nice weather - or if the kids need somewhere to burn some energy that isn’t your garden – we’re here. 

And we’ve upgraded the bribery. We’re now serving our beloved coffee in takeaway cups and we’re fairly confident, the best ice cream in Tunbridge Wells courtesy of the magnificent

So even if you don’t want to stay inside, you can still support our little business and make sure we’re still here for when the inevitable winter arrives.

Back once again with a few additions (and one lil change). If your kiddos are headed to Skinners, Bishop Chavasse or Sussex Road, this one’s for you!

Big Hello 2026

Reception 2026 Meet-Up Schedule is here!

We’re so excited to share our line-up of school meet-up sessions this year. Read on to see when your child’s future classmates will be coming to play!

These relaxed sessions are the perfect way for little ones to make early friendships, and for parents to meet others from the same school, all before September rolls around. Anything to make that first day feel a little less daunting!

Each session is just for the new Reception class at that school, so you’ll have the run of the place.

Last year, these sessions either sold out straight away or didn’t run at all! We’d love to make sure as many schools as possible can go ahead, so we’d really appreciate your help spreading the word. Share with families from your school, pop it into your Facebook and WhatsApp groups, and tell other parents you know.

Please note that our usual capacity limits apply, so we may not be able to accommodate every pupil in each class. Book early to avoid disappointment.

We love the sunshine… but it does make things a little quieter for small businesses like ours, so every coffee really does make a difference 💛

We’re now serving up some seriously good ice cream from Bears Ice Cream Imaginarium, and you can absolutely pop in just to grab a treat and head back out into the sunshine.

Sunny days can be a little quieter for small indoor businesses like ours, so this is a lovely way to support us while still making the most of the weather 💛 Every ice cream sandwich, mini tub or coffee (yes, we do takeaway now!) helps keep us going so we can be here when the rain inevitably returns (because… Britain) 🌧️

So whether you’re staying to play or just passing by for a sweet treat - we’d love to see you!

Today’s the day… school places are out 💛

It’s such an emotional milestone. We really hope you got the news you were hoping for - and if not, we’re sending a big hug your way.

We’re very much in the same boat this year as our own daughter is starting Reception too… which feels mildly ridiculous considering she was a baby about five minutes ago.

So, in an attempt to make September feel slightly less like a leap into the unknown, The Big Hello is back. 👋

These are relaxed sessions for children (and parents) to meet others from their new school ahead of term - a chance to recognise a few faces, have a play, and take the edge off those first-day nerves (for everyone involved).

This year we’re running them on Saturday afternoons throughout June & July, which will hopefully be a more convenient time for families to attend. This does mean that there will be fewer sessions and we won’t be able to include as many schools as last year.
