Following a free week last weekend, we are looking forward to being back in action tomorrow morning as we welcome Wakefield Athletic down to Grazzy.

Thereā€™s a lot of mutual respect between the two clubs and weā€™re expecting them to travel over in numbers. Although there might be a few sore heads in the morning so if they wouldnā€™t mind leaving Dave Whit at home that would be preferred!

With a strong side to choose from and our unbeaten record on the line, the lads will be turning up in the morning ready to go.

Full time score 2-1 and we progress into the 3rd round of the Landlordā€™s Trophy.

Thank you to Whitwood for a good game and coming back for a pint afterwards. All of us at Peacock send our best to your lad who injured his elbow this morning. We wish him a speedy recovery šŸ’ŖšŸ½

See you in the season lads šŸ»

āš½ļøCUP ACTIONāš½ļø

Weā€™ve been a little quiet on socials this week, mainly due to spending most evenings helping Travs find the balls lost last Sunday. Their gaffer managed to climb the tree and retrieve the ball that their keeper booted away in frustration and we gave up trying to find the one from Reganā€™s last minute penalty that we believe either landed in one of the gardens or still in orbit.

Either way, this morning we welcome Whitwood down to Grasmere as we begin our Landlords Trophy campaign. Quite nice of the league to give us the opportunity to get out of our draw rut! Canā€™t say much about todayā€™s opponents other than as always weā€™re expecting a physical game and the lads on the sideline canā€™t wait to see Garyā€™s tash.

See you all down there!

ā—ļøMatchweek 2ā—ļø

Tomorrow morning we travel to fellow Prem1 new boys Travs who find themselves bottom of the league following a dry bumming from Nostell last week. Having said that, we know they do have some quality players signed on and their cow field of a pitch is certainly a leveller so weā€™re expecting a tough game. Over the years theyā€™ve become somewhat of a bogey team for us so the lads are eager for a result in the morning.

We do have some players missing and also some players back available, 19 lads to pick from but no keeper. Luckily for us, weā€™ve over 40 signed on so thereā€™ll be plenty of names available for a ringer to play under šŸ‘€

As always, any support is welcomed. Letā€™s fill all 30 yard of that kids pitch touchline in the morning and hopefully watch the lads follow up their good performance from last week with a win.

āš½ļøEnds all squareāš½ļø

Match preparations started off beautifully when we got to changing rooms to find the council have given us the wrong keys. So we all had to get changed in the car park in true Sunday league fashion.

Despite that minor hiccup, all available players barring 1 turned up, with the missing player apparently ā€˜laid up next to a slut.ā€™

To be fair to the Last Bank lads, they turned with a bare 11 and despite battering them for 45 minutes, we went in at half time 3-1 down.

The onslaught continued in the second half and the extra men we had eventually made the difference in the end as we snuck an equaliser and were unlucky not to find a winner. The game ended 3-3.

Thanks to the Last Bank lads for coming back to the pub for a b**r and the best of luck for the rest of the season.

Onto next week!

ā—ļøBack to businessā—ļø

In classic Peacock fashion preseason was a bit of a mess. From having 24 players available for a midweek friendly to dropping out of one the week after due to a lack of players, to then turning up to a friendly tournament with a bare 11 and getting all the way to the semis.

Despite all that, weā€™re coming into the first game of the season in confident mood with a good squad to select from. It couldnā€™t be much more of a test as tomorrow we welcome Chequerfield Volume 2(Last Bank) to Grasmere for our first league game of the season back in Premiership 1.

Thereā€™ll be plenty of new faces on show as well as a 2nd generation Peacock player making his debut.

So get yourselves out of bed, dust off those hangovers and letā€™s fill that sideline.

ā—ļøKICK OFFā—ļø

This evening we begin our preparations for the 26/27 season with a friendly against Wakefield United.

The boys are buzzing to be back, ready to get started and hoping to start with a win. Weā€™ll have plenty of new faces on show, as well some old faces weā€™d rather not see! Either way weā€™re excited to see how new partnerships grow and the new lads settle in.

As always, any support is always welcome if you want to come down and watch the boys blow off some cobwebs.

āš½ļøWE ARE BACK!āš½ļø

3 things guaranteed in lifeā€¦. Death, taxes and hearing a rumour every summer that the Peacock are folding.

Unfortunately for you rumour mongering bellends, there was never any doubt that weā€™d be back for our 52nd season as a club and even more unfortunate, weā€™re coming back stronger!

Off the pitch, our pub is back open, thereā€™s a new kit with new colours coming and real buzz about the club at the minute.

On the pitch, weā€™ve made some real solid signings over the summer, held on to everyone and are looking in real good shape as we begin our pre-season schedule next week. Details on that to follow.

We are always looking at bolstering our squad, so if you without a team and looking for a new side, or your club is run by absolute whoppers and fancy a new challenge, donā€™t hesitate to reach out and see what the fuss is about. Thereā€™s never been a better time to join us!
