Last night we held our first Wallsend RFC Old Boys Catch-Up at Westholme Farm and it was fantastic to see so many familiar faces there, with former players dating all the way back to the 1960s.

Old photos were passed around, plenty of stories from years gone by were shared, and the Old Boys were also brought up to date with everything happening at the club today.

The evening was rounded off in true Wallsend fashion, with our one and only Club Ambassador, Jimmy Wrightson, getting the accordion out and belting out a song or two!

It was brilliant to see everyone and a great opportunity to bring different generations of Wallsend RFC together.

Keep an eye out for the next Old Boys Catch-Up date, hopefully we can make the next one even bigger!

𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗞𝗦 𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗦

Wallsend RFC are delighted to confirm that Craig Banks will take on the role of First XV Coach for the 2026/27 season.

With a long spell on the sidelines keeping Banksy out of the action, he will now step into the vacant coach spot. With plenty coaching pedigree through stints with Newcastle & Northumbria Uni's respectively, Craig is well suited and brings a wealth of knowledge to the senior lads.

He’ll now officially take charge of the First XV, working alongside Director of Rugby Adam Houston as we prepare for the challenge of the new season.

Having already led the lads through pre-season, the squad are in encouraging shape and ready to hit the ground running.

A familiar face, big rugby brain and someone who knows exactly what this club is about.

𝗙𝗜𝗫𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗢𝗨𝗧! 🟢🟡

Bit late on this one, but following some confusion we can now confirm the fixtures for the upcoming 26/27 season.

We'll kick things off away at Alnwick II on 12th September, before returning to St Peter's Fields for our first home game against Blaydon II a week later.

A big test awaits, but that's exactly what promotion was all about. There's still time to get involved and be a part of it.
