💜 WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY

Dance is about so much more than learning steps.

It’s an hour to switch off from the outside world. To move, laugh, challenge yourself, connect with others and simply enjoy being in the moment.

It’s the friendships made, the confidence built, the little wins celebrated and the feeling of walking out of class just that little bit lighter.

At First Dance Studios, we see every week how much our dance family means to one another. And we’re so grateful to be part of something that brings people together in this way. 💜🧡💚

Today is a reminder to look after ourselves and each other. Sometimes, it’s the little things that make a big difference.

Good morning!

It's Friday, hooray!

We have three lovely classes today and tomorrow it's Super Saturday with seven classes all for you. I don't think you can do the seven, because they cross over a bit, but a couple of people do six (Corinne Spiller ?)

Anyone still in flip flops? I'm erring to the boot now, but it is going to be lovely and sunny this morning and tomorrow.

Tonight we have Fitness Pilates with Louise, our new teacher at Renton. She's super lovely and got such a fabulous relaxed energy, perfect for that evening Pilates class.

I still don't know what to call my Contemporary style at 1pm on a Saturday. For tomorrow, it's Classical Contemporary because it has classical elements but jazzed up. Oh no, maybe I should call it Classical Contemporary Jazz. There we go, haha. Then I'll do all of it in tap shoes and cover all bases.

If you're not sure what to have tonight, it's International B**r and Pizza Day. It's also World Egg Day. In the Brewer house, it's Creamy Prawn Pasta tonight but with crème fraiche so to be slightly healthier. Served with a cold crisp glass of Sauvignon so not that healthy.

🎟️ TICKETS ARE NOW ON SALE!

First Voices (FDS choir) is taking to the stage with their very own live Christmas show packed with festive favourites, big singalongs, dancing and plenty of sparkle! ✨

Add a bar serving plenty of refreshments, including our signature Christmas cocktail (with a non-alcoholic option too), and you’ve got a lovely way to celebrate off the festive season.

Best of all, we’ll be raising funds for Kidney Research UK , a charity close to our hearts. 💜

Good morning.

It's what the garden needs. Yes, the rain. I weirdly quite like it. Anyone else?

We have two brand new courses starting soon with Sophie and they are Beginner Contemporary and Beginner Street/Commercial. Have you always wanted to go along to Diana's classes but a bit scared / wary? Well now, you don't have to be as Sophie will get you class (show) ready in 6 weeks to give you the basics and to give you the confidence to join in any class at the studio.

They start on Sunday 18th October, Contemporary is at 10am and Street/Commercial is at 11am at LESTA and run for 6 weeks. If you do both of the courses, you get your first class at the studio free afterwards.

It's on Bsport so get booking in, it's also a lovely thing to do on a Sunday morning.

It's National Frappe Day and National Bathtub Day today. I'm not a fan of a frappe, only the ballet ones for me please and even they're a pain. Yes please to a bathtub, currently we are in a house without a bath. I need to pop over to one of your houses for a bath please. Too much?

And in case you need inspiration tonight, it's pizza and salad tonight for us. I would like to say that the pizzas will be homemade but I'll put a lot of money on the fact that they won't be.

Adele teaches Theatre Jazz on a Friday daytime. Full of energy and a supportive class atmosphere, this class is a great one for musicals fans or those who fancy a midweek jazz class. 🤗✨

It's World Architecture Day today but slightly more excitingly, it's Global James Bond Day. Maybe they'll announce the new James Bond. Oh look at the irony of me being the super sleuth. I'm not the next James Bond alas, I think they need someone who doesn't need a hand getting up off a chair. It's Traybake Monday in our house tonight, chicken, sausages, potatoes and all the left over veg from the weekend. I would of course like to w**e pair but it's Monday so I might abstain tonight - I don't feel that I can get away with celebrating World Architecture Day.
