Here are a few words from Rowenna...

"Me and my team Cai & Bailey live on the Shropshire/Powys border and have been canicrossing socially and competitively for for many years!

Sadly lost my old amazing partner Harry a while ago but he managed to make it as a CXRC dog of the month 😊.

We would love to be an ambassador for CXRC to help continue promoting the sport and to continue our motivation for the races we love and to try out new ones!"

Introducing our newest CXRC Ambassador Dan Wheele

Here is a bit about Dan in his own words;

"My name's Dan, I'm an avid canicross enthusiast and competitor from Worthing in the South East of England. Running with my rescue dog Lemmy has become one of the most important elements in my life, in December of 2022 I attempted su***de due to long term on-going chronic mental health issues. I felt flat and purposeless and the stresses of everyday life became too much for me, luckily this wasn't successful and soon after my wife began a C25K canicross course with our JRT Daisy.

Soon enough, seeing the fun they were having Lemmy turned 18 months old and was able to run too so I joined the same club and ever since then it's felt as though we both have a purpose that we absolutely love. In the 2025-2026 season we achieved podium finishes in all 11 races we competed in bringing our total to 19. Seeing how happy he is to race means everything to me and his passion to get out and run keeps me training when it's wet and cold and I'd otherwise make an excuse not to"

Introducing our CXRC Scotland Ambassador Auriel Sumner 🐕‍🦺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿😁

Here are a few words from Auriel to get to get to know our newest ambassador

"Hello!

Myself, Tilly (border collie) and Reo (saluki lurcher) are based in North East Scotland. We've been canicrossing since 2021 accidentally discovering the sport and then using it as a way to help Tilly through her anxiety and reactivity. We found our club and the wider canicross community to be so inclusive and welcoming that we've just never looked back and it completely changed our lives for better. Fast forward to 2026, we have a second dog, Reo who we rescued and have been lucky enough to compete up and down the UK in various canicross races. I'm passionate about the sport and keeping it accessible to all abilities and breeds. I've been a member of our club committee for the last few years and have been responsible for organising various social events and activities including a charity dog sports day, an easter egg hunt and canicross bingo. I'd love to see the sport grow more and become more widely recognised and i think that happens when more people share and talk about it through organisations like CXRC."

First QPAWS upload since the new updates and have to say I'm impressed. 20 of our members supported the development and it's so great to see the additions that were suggested. I love that once connected to Strava you can select (quickly) which runs apply and that all don't auto upload.

CXRC Ambassador Applications 2026/27 🐾

We’re looking for passionate, enthusiastic people from across the UK to join the CXRC Ambassador Team for 2026/27!

We’re especially keen to build a team that represents all areas of the UK — North, South, East, West including Scotland/Wales/N Ireland — so we’d love to hear where you’re from.

You don’t have to be a top-tier racer or podium finisher. Whether you race competitively or just love getting out there and having fun with your dog at events we want people who are passionate about canicross and genuinely want to help grow the sport and our community.
(Ideally we would like our Ambassadors to attend races)

As a CXRC Ambassador, we’d love you to:

🐕 Represent CXRC at races and events
📱 Have a regular social media presence
🏃 Be active within the canicross community
⭐ Share your CXRC experiences
📝 Create race reviews
📣 Promote CXRC (in person and virtually)
👕 Wear and represent your CXRC ambassador kit at races

In return, you’ll receive CXRC Ambassador race kit we will promote you regularly, you will be involved in Team of the Month decisions and we are currently exploring some benefits that could be great for both ambassador and race organisers.

Our Scottish Ambassador will also get free entry to Cani Sports Scotland races. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
