Jarailstar Working Spaniels and Labradors

11/10/2026

Well thats the most stressful weekend out of the way for the season, hosting the 2 day open retriever trial for the Bristol and West.
A massive thanks to Luke and Rob for all the hard work to make sure it went as well as it possibly could and to those who came to help by running spaniels, the day cant go as it does without you. The guns didnt shoot to bad either 😉
congratulations to the worthy winner.

Busy weekend, running the West mids Novice retriever trial saturday then a trip north for the first day day salmon fishing for me and a pal. Great day on a fantastic bit of the Tweed ( Pedwell) Sadly no luck for me but my mate had two lovely salmon so well worth the miles. I somehow managed to forget my boots but it didnt matter as the local butchers doubled as a fishing shop (as you do). Definitely to be repeated

Emblehope is a 7,550-acre estate where gun dogs were previously trained for bird shoots. Restore has exciting ambitions to completely restore and transform the peat bog, inspired by the “great bogs of Estonia or Finland.”
