Even being in hospital, Mark never fails to make me šŸ˜ŠšŸ˜³šŸ¤”šŸ˜‚
This is the WhatsApp I got at 7am this morning….

When I said are you joking, cos I’ve seen this 91yr old gentleman and thought he was winding me up, he said, no joke, he likes to be kept going.
Cant beat that kind of mind set!

Actually, he’s just told me he’s 93!

Ok so back to business!
Just a reminder that all our classes are running as normal apart from our Tuesday Senior class. Our classes are taken by experienced coaches who have a wealth of knowledge!
An ongoing thank you to all our coaches and students who are supporting our club and keeping it going as Mark recovers! šŸ™

Oh and just a little note as it’s the start of a new month, can monthly payments please be made in the first week so it’s easier for me to know what’s what when paying bills. Again, thank you šŸ™

Keep training, keep learning, let’s keep HFA strong šŸ¤¼ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ„‹šŸ„Š

Well done to Hayden who received two stripes on his white belt off Mark H, Corky and Luke today!

Mark wanted to say hello and thank you to everyone for all his well wishes and messages. From Intensive Care Unit on Monday to Beech C Ward today, still got a bit of a road ahead of him but considering how bad things got this time, he’s doing ok šŸ’™ and still not missing a trick to advertise šŸ™„

UPDATE…As it’s easier to do it this way as too many to text…

After a quick(ish) turn around, Mark is out of the ICU at Carlisle and has been moved onto a ward after one of the worst most draining few days ever! He’s doing ok, feeling a bit better and keeping positive. Onwards and upwards lad, never want to get that phone call again, there’s only been a couple of times I’ve had to take seriously deep breaths to get through things and to reassure myself that you are as strong as I’ve always known you to be and to believe that you could turn this around.
Thanks again for all the support we’ve had, I’ve said it before but messages have especially kept Mark going, thanks to the ambulance mates that pop in to see him when they can, to the coaches who are keeping the classes going, to our fab neighbours that have kept our grass short and offered lots of support, to the other visitors, the dog sitters and the general well wishers. Couldn’t do it without you ā¤ļø

And a reminder to everyone šŸ‘‡

A massive congratulations to Aden for taking home the British Open Ultra Heavyweight Gold Medal! Not everyone was there to receive their medals but he was up against some strong opponents including a heavily experienced lad in the final, who has competed over 70 times and pushed Aden towards his limits, though Aden dug deep and came though and took the win. Well done Aden, you should be very proud of yourself as everyone here at HFA are of you too! šŸ‘šŸ‘

Great surprise visit off Gary Savage to see the patient this tea time! Lovely to see you, thank you for calling in, it’s made his day, Mark couldn’t believe it!

Just a small update, Mark had his first infusion on Friday and was allowed home later that day. He’s been pretty wiped out since, a side effect of the infusion but he’s pulled around well as the day has gone on today. Next infusion in two weeks!

Mark would like to pass on a huge thank you to everyone for all the comments and messages that he’s had, it’s been overwhelming and its definitely helped keep his spirits up. I’m sorry that I couldn’t respond to everyone individually but there’s been so many across the board, we appreciate each and every one though. The latest update is that he is still in hospital and will be until he has his first infusion, hopefully tomorrow or the day after. It would have been today but unfortunately the ward they do them on is in lockdown due to sickness. But it’s all still a plus as otherwise he would have to wait for an appointment at Whitehaven, which would have taken a little while longer. So fingers crossedšŸ¤žThank you again all ā¤ļø
