A quick look back at a brilliant weekend for our aspiring drag racers! On Sunday our junior
series just kept going from strength to strength!!! With all the hype around Street Weekend you’d be forgiven for not seeing their amazing progress!!! Hettie the now third generation racer from the Rushworth family debuted the School Trip slingshot and what a car it is!!!! Many of you will know Ben from EDA Engine Data Analysis that is the place to go round here for dynos and engine development.

The Sprit Dragster too got its first round win this weekend and Tina also debuted their new slingshot with a lot of success!!! Looked awesome seeing them all lined up together.

Times for Melbourne Raceway, Sun 7th June 2026 - Straightliners Events With the euphoria of Street Weekend departing the property late Saturday afternoon the rest of the weekend was left for the Straightliners domestic championships to unfold as well as round 3 of the Melbourne Championship.

With the dust settled after what is the biggest multi venue series in British Drag Racing, can we take a moment to say a huge thank you to Max, James, Callum and everyone else from Santa Pod Raceway in helping put Street Weekend together. Thank you to all the competitors and teams who massively pulled it out the bag putting on a great show in spite of the crap weather!!!

Huge thank you also goes to the Straightliners crew and all the others that got stuck in and helped us co-ordinate this event at Melbourne and Evington. Thank you also to Corteco and all the sponsors that backed this event.

And finally thank you everyone who braved the weather to come and these cars in action!!!!! What a blast.

Street weekend competitors don’t forget to pick up your complementary competitor sticker at signing on curtesy of Straightliners. There is one per driver but we should have spares that can also be purchased for £3 a piece.

And for fans, crew, spectators etc there is also the, ‘I was there’ stickers!!! There are available for anyone to purchase £3 a pop.
All funds go to the Melbourne Infrastructure Development fund.

Remember it’s lining up to be a cracking weekend. Come over early Friday to Elvington or early Saturday to Melbourne to see them in action. Loads more going after that though. And plenty of RWYB chances too!
