The green youth played hosts to Rufforth this morning.
In our first game since before Christmas, it was always going to be tough day at the office. With two players making debuts everyone was great.
Max, debuting for Slingsby he was great in goal, making some fantastic saves. Very brave and we think big things will come for him.
Abz, playing rb she was very busy, intercepting and tackling every player in sight.
Ol, in cb he was on goal kick duty and did a quality job with that role. He also made some very important tackles.
Uso, cb and captain. He was vocal and had a great game, strong on the ball and made a few great runs forward.
Elsie, debuting at lb a natural athlete. Tracking he man well and again getting stuck into tackles. This girl will be a star.
Osk, rcm had to work hard and gave everything up and down the pitch. Had a great allround game.
Anna, cm was in on all the actions. Great skills and positive on the attacks. Again has the ability to be a lioness.
Rory, lcm today have to adapt and change his game he was very good on and off the ball, tracking runners and winning his individual battles.
Ronnie, st role tody a big change for him be once he found his feet he was great, worked as hard as ever. And had a few good moves going forward.
Eliott, st tried his best to get us going forward, outnumbered and a little isolated, he still did what he could to pass and move us up the pitch.
Games with only 10 players vs 11 is always hard. But we did what we do and that is never quit. We fight and dig in as deep as possible.
We are Slingsby and we go down swinging.
I'm proud to say I coach such a great bunch of warriors.
We may have come second today but we only ever learn.

Slingsby u13s December player of the month. Proudly sponsored by Paul Richardson Plastering and Building Contractor
Uso Howden the captain of the u13s, has had to deal with alot so far this season. But he took everything in his stride and remains positive and encouraging to everyone in his team.
With players abandoning ship, the captain has done his part and leads by example. He has put on the gloves to take on a new roll in-between the sticks. He is a credit to the club and the game.

Slingsby juniors travel down the road to Stamford Bridge.
With players departing, and another key player recovering from a hospital visit.
9 green youth was prepared to battle the hearts out.
Lucky for Slingsby we was hosted by the best coach and most respectable team in the league.
They gave us two players to even up the game, and what a fantastic game of football it was, every child played so hard and gave everything asked. Big smiles all round and the best cheers and support from both home and away team parents.
Uso,
Had a change of position, put on the gk gloves and turning the clock back 3-4 years. Brilliant distribution from his hand, and made some very big saves to keep the score as low as it was.
Ronnie,
Making his debut in the green he didn't disappoint. Tackles after Tackles cutting out lots of attacks. Played to great passes into midfield, and had a few little runs forward.
Ollie, in his usual cb position did what he dose best. Big challenges and big clearance of anything in his area. He understanding and reading of the game is better and better each week.
Anna,
Cm maestro, putting on a masterclass performance. Running all over the pitch doing her part to help her team. Amazing link up with all around her.
Osk,
Making cm his own now, calm cool and composed on the ball. Playing positive passes forward, never shy to get stuck into any challenge.
Rory,
Only a few games into his football jurny and making a real impact out wide, worked very hard to be up and down, ball at his feet he was amazing going forward. Few more games and he will be flying as a winger.
Elliot,
Really coming into the game, today he made some great passes to get us on the attack. Chasing the ball and applying pressure. Again a new position and in time will prove to be his rightful place.
Harv,
Sitting in cam was on top form, in the thick of the battle and really got stuck in. Passing and moving taking what we have done in training into the game. Showing he is listening and learning.
Chandler,
Our star at the top, relentless in attacks. Strong and focused on one thing the opposition goal, although goals aren't among us yet. in time this lad will be crashing that ball in the net time after time. Great Running and and heart of a warrior.
Not a win on paper but a win in spirt, a better score than last time. Also nothing but heart shown for the badge.

Slingsby u13s played host to willberfoss this morning. Proudly sponsored by Graffix
With the fog starting to lift, the green army came out playing some fantastic football and keeping the visitors out of our half. We stood strong and defended so good for the majority of the game, bowes stood strong and reliable as ever in-between the sticks, fast of his line and brave as a warrior. The back line playing a great offside trap time after time. Uso and Ol mopped up anything and everything, winning headers along with j lyon and Abz big tackles and all round spot on defending.
Our wings of Leo and osk was on top form as usual, fast tricky feet and great trying to press an attack.
Lewis and harv worked hard try to gets up forward and caused a few problems for the away team.
Anna and chandler bossed the engine room like normal, great fight and graft by them both.
Our two subs of elliot and debut Rory both making a positive impact help the team try push forward.
Unfortunately the score line doesn't show how good we was, again slight mistakes and a little lack of fitness caught us out. But lots of positive things, we never quit, we never stopped fighting for possession or trying hard to push for a goal.
Good things will come, just somethings take time. We are on the right track we just need to stick at it and believe.
