Tams, the long-time promoter and general manager of of the Ystrad Mynach venue, passed away in December 2025 at the age of 70 although the family's legacy

The Welsh Government rushed through its greyhound racing ban, and now its own implementation report shows key consequences are still unresolved!

The full social and economic impacts have not been quantified, the timetable is still being worked through, and important questions around rehoming and welfare remain unanswered.

There are 364 greyhounds registered at the Valley Greyhounds track, alongside trainers, staff, suppliers and local businesses whose livelihoods will be affected. This is exactly what I warned about. You do not pass legislation first and work out the consequences afterwards!

The Welsh Government now needs to come clean about the true impact of this ban and make sure animal welfare, jobs and local businesses are not treated as an afterthought.

Well, what an amazing day we had yesterday! We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came down to support us. It was a great day of racing and incredible to see the community coming together to support the Valley Track💙
