St Pats fielded its first ever Mens U21 team today as part of the inaugural CDFL U21s Division.

The lads, under the stewardship of Ian Bradley, made the trip to Tullow to take on Parkville U21s in the historic opening fixture.

A good crowd watched an entertaining match which our lads will be frustrated over some sloppy mistakes in the first half that had Parkville 3-0 up at HT.

But a better second half saw Pats create plenty of chances, hitting the woodwork and forcing a couple of good saves from Parkvile's Keeper.

The St Pat's side was made up of players not yet getting 90 minutes in the men's teams, knocking on the door of the men's Div1 squad and Youths players who have made themselves available for selection.

Hopefully this pilot season will see more Clubs come on-board next season as there is no substitute for competitive match experience fkr young players.
