Ringmahon Rangers Girls.

Today both our girls U9 and U10 teams played really exciting games.

First up was our U10 team who had an exciting well matched game with Leeside.

Then followed with a U9 blitz with Lakewood and Midleton visiting us and some great games all part of development of the kids and well done to the younger girls from the academy who also played.

Ringmahon Rangers U19 Girls 5-4 Watergrasshill Utd*

A Nine-Goal Classic - Ringmahon Edge It In Nail-Biter!

Ringmahon Rangers U19 Girls showed incredible heart and character today as they held on to beat a very strong Watergrasshill Utd side 5-4 in an absolute classic.

In an excellent display of football from both teams, Ringmahon started brightly and found their rhythm early. Leading the charge was Isabelle O'Connor, who was simply unplayable today with a superb hat-trick- clinical, composed, and full of confidence from left wing.

She was backed up brilliantly by Ava Murphy, who got on the scoresheet with a well-taken goal, and Lia O Suilleabháin, who also found the net to make it five for the home side.

But credit to Watergrasshill Utd, they never gave up and made it a real contest. The second half was nail-biting from start to finish, with chances at both ends and tension right up until the final whistle.

It was end-to-end, passionate, and played in the right spirit throughout. Every girl on that pitch played their hearts out till the end and left absolutely everything out there.

Final Score: Ringmahon 5-4 Watergrasshill Utd

Ringmahon Rangers v Carrigtwohill United

Nothing spooky to report on match day in Ringmahon Park as the girls returned to normal proceedings.

The high press and pressure from the get go worked really well with great play from the girls. They forced Carrigtwohill to play the ball when it didn’t suit them which allowed us to take full advantage.

The first few moments of this encounter had the girls working hard off the ball for possession, which paid off in the end.

Sadie finished from close range to keep her scoring streak going with a tidy finish.

The midfield worked super hard winning second balls and forcing the ball into the opposition half allowing Tillie to run and close down defenders.

With the game slowly coming into the young Ringers favor it was mostly one sided for the first half. Sadie again had a lovely finish tucked into the bottom corner making it more comfortable.

A solid shift was put in again from Vainavi Saoirse and Emily three relaxed and calm players working from the back to keep a clean sheet.

Second half came around and changes were made, Ayra done well in left back. Eile was great attacking and Addision added width on the right.

The second half was very encouraging and the hard work didn’t stop as the girls smelt blood. Corners and feee kicks came but to no avail.

A third goal came with Naomi finishing superbly into the back of the net which ended the goals on the day.

Not forgetting anyone, Siarra and Taylor showed fantastic signs of hard work lots of running and lots of dribbling and taking players on.

Confidence within the group is well and truly alive.

Our u13s prem side were in action earlier today in Ringmahon Park against Leeside.

It was a scrappy game where both defences were on top, and a draw would probably been have been a fair result.

But the young ringers got the decisive goal with a couple of mins to go when a freekick to the left was headed across goal by Ammar Sokoli and Kallum Power Morrissey headed home to seal the 3 points for the young ringers.

Ringmahon Under-17A continued their impressive start to their first season together in the Cork Youth League with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Park United.

The win keeps the lads top of the table, moving them a point clear with a game in hand.

Today's goals came from Alex, who converted a penalty, followed by a brilliant finish from Evan O'Riordan. Alex then grabbed his second of the game after some excellent work from Ignacio to put Ringmahon in front.

It was a real battle right until the final whistle, with the lads showing tremendous determination, character and commitment to see out the result.

A fantastic team effort and 3 very well-deserved points!

UNDER 15 GARY COMERFORD PREMIER LEAGUE

Leeside United 1–1 Ringmahon Rangers

A dramatic 71st-minute equaliser from Bryon O’Shaughnessy ensured Ringmahon Rangers maintained their unbeaten record in the Gary Comerford Premier League today.

Ringmahon started brightly and created several excellent opportunities to take the lead but were unable to find the breakthrough. We continued to dominate possession and create chances throughout the opening half, but credit must go to Leeside, who defended brilliantly and looked dangerous on the counterattack whenever the opportunity presented itself.

The sides went in level at 0–0 at half-time. While slightly disappointing from Ringmahon’s perspective, the boys regrouped and came out with real purpose in the second half, creating further opportunities and coming desperately close to breaking the deadlock on several occasions.

Against the run of play, Leeside took the lead with 25 minutes remaining, converting a penalty into the bottom-right corner.

Ringmahon responded by throwing everything into getting back on level terms. We hit both the post and the crossbar and continued to press, but Leeside’s determination and dogged defending made life extremely difficult.

However, the boys never gave up, and their persistence was finally rewarded in the 88th minute when Bryon O’Shaughnessy found the net with a dramatic equaliser to rescue a valuable point.

It is important to give Leeside enormous credit. Having lost 10–0 to Ringmahon previously, to come back and earn a 1–1 draw is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the players, their coaches and the work they have put in.

On another day, Ringmahon might have come away with another couple of goals, but we take nothing away from Leeside, who thoroughly deserve credit for their performance.

Ringmahon now move to 19 points from a possible 21, maintaining their unbeaten league record.

The boys take a break from league action next week as we turn our attention to the National Cup Third Round, where we welcome Midleton A to Ringmahon Park.
