🎬 This June, join us for a powerful screening of The Strike — the acclaimed feature documentary telling the story of California prisoners who endured decades in solitary confinement and launched the largest hunger strike in U.S. history. Inspired by the Irish hunger strikers, this unforgettable film shines a light on resistance, solidarity, and the fight for human dignity.

Each screening will include a special post-film panel discussion with the documentary makers and formerly incarcerated strike activists.

The School of Social Work and Social Policy is currently recruiting for a Research Development Officer. This post will support and consolidate the research activity within the School.

Post status: Part-Time (0.7 FTE), Fixed-Term Contract (3 Years)

The purpose of this post is to provide dedicated administrative support for research activities within the School, acting as the first point of contact for academic staff seeking assistance with research grants and projects, and supporting the implementation of the School’s research strategy. This role is not being offered on a permanent basis as the function of this role as outlined will be subject to a review and may not continue in its current form. The long-term capacity of the post will be contingent upon the outcome of the review.
