The response has been fantastic, raising significant funds for the club that will enable us to try and move mountains to improve the facilities for the members, existing and new!

⚠️Subscription fees are due⚠️

Our new subscription fees for the 2024/2025 season are below and are now due. As with last season, we have now have a late payment penalty for subscription payments made after 1 October. This helps to ensure that our membership fees are paid promptly at the start of each season. 

If you pay your fees by 1 October, the fee for 2024/2025 season is €440. Any fee payments after this date will increase to €490, so make sure to get your payment in early! Those who pay by the deadline also get their new on-field jersey for only €10💜💛

Please remember the Hockey Ireland membership fee is also due at this time, so don’t forget to pay your membership before the season starts.

Join us on Saturday, August 31st for a fun-filled day of hockey for our open day🏑

We have some exciting things happening this year on our open day, slightly different to different years..

We are delighted to announce that our new Olympic pitch will be officially opened at 1:30pm by Lord Mayor of Dublin James Geoghegan👏🏻👏🏻

Following the pitch opening, our Men’s 1XI will be welcoming Monkstown and UCD for our annual Ken Treacy Memorial Cup. We remember Ken, his family and friends at this time and would like to wish all players the best of luck in the cup ☘️

What a Festival!💜💛

As the dust has settled on what can only be described as a very successful inaugural Wanderer’s 7’s Festival here at Pembroke, we have a few notes of appreciation to those who were involved in its success🙏

Firstly, we would like to thank all the individuals and teams who signed up to join in on the fun for the weekend, without hockey players, there would be no festival! We had great representation across the weekend with players travelling from all corners of Ireland, the UK and even Dubai, and each and every one of you we are thankful for🏑

We would also like to give a huge thank you to all our organisers who put in countless hours into making the weekend such a success, from marquee planning, to cooking, to scheduling and decorating, the team of volunteers really had their work cut out for them!

Please note the below for start dates for pre-season across the women’s and men’s sections and for any changes to the scheduling between pre-season and season training.

Women’s Section Scheduling:
W1’s & W2’s return onThursday 8th August 2024
W3’s & W4’s return on Monday 12th August 2024
W5’s-W8’s return on Monday 12th August 2024 with pre-season training on W/C 12th & 19th August as follows (before splitting into normal training schedules as above):
Monday 6:30-8:00pm (water pitch)
Tuesday 8:30-10:00pm (water pitch)

M3’s-M6’s return on Wednesday 7th August 2024

Well, we are wanderers…The Woods family were cheering on the Irish Men’s hockey team in Paris this morning! 🇮🇪💜💛🇮🇪

We were delighted to host the Eagles to train & play some warm-up matches on our brand new Olympic pitch this weekend, before they head to Paris! 🇺🇸🏑💜

A big thanks to the team for putting on a show v our W1s and for taking the time to meet our members - some lucky members even got autographs & signed gear! Best of luck to our new friends in Paris! 💜💛

This role would be ideally suited to someone who has done previously data administration in the past and is now looking for a role which, in return for that skill set, will provide significant flexibility in a community affirming environment.

PWHC are delighted to confirm and welcome Jake Pillow to the Men’s 1st XI squad.

Jake joins us from Glenanne, after a successful season and brings valuable EY1 experience with him to the midfield.

Kristian on the move - “Myself and Alan met Jake and the synergy was immediately clear.

Jake is ambitious, dedicated, committed and keen to learn and grow as a player and person. Our program and objectives for the future as a club, not just a team were all key areas and values we believe aligned to Jake’s goals.

I’m really excited to work with him and can’t wait for him to bring his energy and enthusiasm to the pitch.”

Jake on joining - “I am really excited to be joining Pembroke this year. I am eager to contribute to the team’s continued success and to be part of their journey forward.”

PWHC are delighted to confirm and welcome Sam Ryder to the Men’s 1st XI Squad.

Sam joins from UCD after an excellent season supporting the defensive line and brings with him valuable EY1 experience gained at both YMCA and UCD.

Kristian (Men’s 1st XI Head Coach) on the move - “I’ve worked with Sam previously and when we sat down this year as a coaching team, he was one of the first names on the list to help add to the squad.

A diligent, committed and focused defender, Sam adds traits we are always looking to build into our defensive unit. He is also an all round good guy and fierce competitor, which embodies everything we are trying to build at PWHC.”

Sam on joining PWHC - “I’m delighted to be joining Pembroke. As a club with a history of success, i’m excited to do my best to contribute to it more in the coming years. Having enjoyed working with both Kristian and Alan in the past i’m excited to meet the lads, get on the pitch and work hard.”

Pembroke Wanderers are delighted to announce the signing of Tevin Kok - on a long-term deal.

A South African international and Olympian, Tevin will be a great addition to the Men’s 1st XI as they look towards their pre-season preparations ahead of a big season in EY1.

Pemroke’s head coach, Kristian Mansfield, is understandably very pleased with the news. “Tevin joining is a huge boost to the group. When Alan [Sothern, Assistant Coach] and I met with Tevin and it became clear that the project and indeed the club interested Tevin, it was a no-brainer to try and bring him in.

I’m really excited to have him on board. We recognise that there is a big step up this year and we want to not only survive in EY1, but be genuinely competitive. It’s obvious that Tevin’s quality will help us on the pitch and we look forward to supporting him off it and welcoming him to our community.”

Tevin added, “I am excited to join Pembroke, a club with so much history, and I look forward to helping the club get back to the top again.”

Men’s 1st XI Coaching Announcement 2024/25 Season

We are delighted to confirm Kristian Mansfield has extended his contract for a further 2 seasons on the back of guiding the team to promotion back to EY1. Kristian has been instrumental in turning around the Team’s fortunes on the pitch but perhaps more importantly helping to create a positive environment and culture. Results aside, it was great to see a bunch of players in purple playing hard and enjoying it.

We are also very pleased to announce that Alan Sothern is returning to the club, joining the coaching ticket in the role of Player, Assistant Coach of the Men’s 1st X1. Alan, a familiar and fond figure to many of us, rejoining his boyhood club having served UCD as Head Coach in EY1 last year.

Alan has also signed a 2-year contract with the club. His playing and coaching experience will be a great addition to Kristian, the wider Squad, his fellow coach Simon Thornton and manager Jack Cherry, who are also continuing in their roles with the Team after being critical parts to the teams success this year.

Kristian on extending his contract - “I’m really excited to renew my contract with PWHC, it’s an exciting time to be at the club as we continue to build sustainably towards our ambitious goals. Adding Alan to the staff and welcoming him back home adds not only to our experience as a coaching team, but is proof in our vision for the team over the coming years.

It’s a great time to be part of the club and I am very excited for next year.”

Alan on rejoining - “I’m delighted to be rejoining the coaching staff in Pembroke for the next two seasons. I have been in Pembroke since I was born so to be back in the club feels like a return home. I am excited for the challenge ahead next season and look forward to getting out on the pitch again in purple.”

We would also like to thank Colin “Wiggy” Kelly who was an important member of the Men’s 1st XI promotion last season, he will be continuing to coach in the club, sharing his wealth of experience and knowledge.

We are delighted to announce Summer Hockey 2024 is back on our brand new Olympic-style hockey pitch starting on Wednesday 29th May at 7pm☀️🏑

We look forward to seeing some familiar faces back and hopefully some fresh faces for some sun, socials, bbq and fun each week💜💛
