Mungret Regional 3-1 Moyross United

Scorer: Habideen Gbadebo

We were away to fellow premier division side Mungret Regional in the FAI Junior Cup this morning. We started brilliantly and could have opened the scoring on a couple of occasions before Habideen Gbadebo gave us the lead on the 15 minute mark. He was on hand to slot home from close range from a Rian Goggin square ball follwing a great team move. We frustrated the home side for the rest of the half not giving them a minutes peace but on the couple of occasions they threatened us Michael O Donoghue was unbeatable, including one world class save from a header off a set piece. This ensured we went into the break with our lead in tact.

Mungret broke through early in the second half. Again Michael O Donoghue brilliantly saved the initial effort but the rebound was nodded home. Shortly after an Aaron Power free-kick almost got us back in front but went millimetres over the bar. Mungret got more and more on top and as the game entered the final 20 minutes the home side got their second - disappointing from our point of view as it was a free header from a set-piece. Our squad was stretched thin again today and as we tired in the final 15 minutes they added a third. We rallied again late on and two goal line clearances in the final five minutes kept us from making it very very interesting. In the end we bow out of the competition.

The first half performance needs to be the benchmark going into the rest of the league campaign. With big players returning to the squad in the coming weeks it needs full commitment across the board and we should start to pick up valuable points.

Next fixture is a home game with Regional United next Sunday morning🔴⚪️🔴

SFAI U12 National Trophy

Rathkeale AFC 5-3 Moyross Utd

Our scorer: Ryan Williams⚽️⚽️⚽️

A great display by our kids, giving a great account of themselves in the face of some very questionable decisions going against them. Congratulations to Rathkeale and best of luck to them in the next round. Well done to all involved for our u12's and thanks to those who made the trip in support🔴⚪️🔴

Our u10's were in action at home to a very very strong Mungret Regional FC side this morning. Our kids played very very well and we had goalscorers in Mason Barry, Peter Harty & Jack O Donovan, while in goals Alex Hollywood was exceptional. All who played this morning did brilliantly well. Well done kids❤️🤍❤️

Our 11's played at home to Mungret Regional this morning and played some brilliant football. This was the best they've played this season and the improvements in their play are becoming very evident. Goals this morning were scored by James Connolly, Jamie Walsh and Kayden Harte-Lynch. Everyone who played this morning played brilliantly. Well done all🔴⚪️🔴

🔴⚪️🔴NOTICE🔴⚪️🔴

This is the state the grounds were left in this morning. Discarded drink bottles, coffee cups and food wrappers just thrown on the ground. This was left by our own supporters for us to clean up. The worst thing is there are 2 bins in the second photo that are there for rubbish to be put in. Have a bit of respect and put your s**t in the bins provided. Nobody throws their s**t on the ground of their own home and expects others to pick it up. Why would you do it in our home? Totally unacceptable. Be better.

Moyross Utd 2-4 Pike Rovers

Scorers: Ben O Mahony & Habideen Gbadebo.

The A team went down by 4 goals to 2 against Pike Rovers this morning. Pike had a lot of possession in the opening exchanges and went close on a couple of occasions but were kept out by super stops from Mike O Donoghue. From there we got a foothold and began to put their rearguard under pressure. We had a spell 5 minutes before half time where we hit the woodwork three times in the space of a couple of minutes and then had a shout for a penalty waved away. Pike countered on us and took the lead and added another in first half stoppage time.

In the second half it was tit for tat until Pike got in behind us as a defender was off the pitch for a minute following treatment for a head injury. Its one of the more brutal new laws of the game to be honest. Their winger went over in the box and it was 3-0 after the resulting spot kick. We got a goal back from our own spot kick with fifteen minutes to go. Ben O Mahony slotted after a foul on Craig Collopy-Duggan. Pike had a few chances to put it to bed but it took a Stephen McGann free kick from the community centre😂 to get their fourth. We hit back again when Leon Fitzgerald did well to tee up Habideen Gbadebo to score from close range.

Its a game of moments - we go from hitting the woodwork 3 times and looking certain to score to being 2-0 down in the space of a few minutes. We score first and it could be a different game. The lads kept going however and never gave up. Things are improving and the squad numbers are starting to swell. No doubt a win is coming.

A big shout out and thank you to today's match sponsor Murty of Treaty Property Maintenance. . Much appreciated🔴⚪️🔴

🔴⚪️🔴U12's Result🔴⚪️🔴

Moyross Utd 0-1 Corbally.

The 12's were edged out by a very late strike in a very very tight game this morning in which a draw would probably have been the fairest outcome. James Connolly produced a fine display in goals. Great effort kids - onto the next one🔴⚪️🔴

Can everyone blame coach Antoin Ò Cuinn for not taking a team photo🤪
