Closer to home well done to all who did Parkrun today. Ella Grace Osborne was 1st lady at 'UL" in a Parkrun pb time of 19:00 👏👏🟩

And it's a fine 14th place in Europe for Emer at her first major international competition where she has represented Ireland 🇮🇪(and Dooneen!) with distinction 👏😊 Her lifetime best total of 5319 points included two p.b.'s along the way 👏🎉🇮🇪.

Also well done to another Irish International of this parish, namely Megan O'Shea who was 3rd in the 100m hurdles at the FISC Games in Budapest 🇮🇪👏🎉

Well done, comhgairdeas to Cillian Higgins who was 2nd in the Limerick Runs, Summer 10K in Castleconnell 10K last night in a time of 35:43 🥈👏🎉🏃🏻‍♂️In tropical conditions Shane Ryan, formerly of Dooneen parish was 3rd in 36:12.

As for the ladies Maria Maher was 5th in 45:29 with 'comrade' Liz Wilmot 6th in 47:42.

Other times included Geraldine Ryan 58:47, John McInerney, 40:30, Paul Naughton 40:02, Steve Aherne 38:50, Brian Aherne 41:26, Damien Wilmot, (husband of Liz) 42:16, Mike Clarke 48:47. Mike Griffin 44:00, Joe Chawke 45:32 and Willie Gorman 54:28.

The Men's race was won by pre-race favourite Karl Fitzmaurice of Shannon in 34:12 with Bride Hearne of Clonmel top lady in 40:02.

National Juvenile B and Relay Championship's took place in Tullamore this past weekend. Well done to everyone who competed.

Well done to Eileen Reeves who completed the challenging Glenbeigh/Glencar Marathon (- challenging in terrain and conditions!) in a time of 5 hours and 18 minutes.👏💥

Kudos also to Marion O'Halloran who travelled to Austria for the Linz Parkrun, where in 24 degrees she produced her best time of the year of 33 minutes 14 seconds. Gut gemacht Marion und Patrick 👏 😀
