At 'Run the Bridges' in Ballina and Killaloe in aid of Ballina Primary School🎓 👏. A big attendance and some serious hills.

Also in attendance was Ger Meehan in a race spanning the Premier and Banner Counties 🔺🏇🧨.

The race was won by Eimear O'Leary of Galway City Harriers and Peter Power of Shannon.

Well done to Declan Kennedy, who travelled south to the Kingdom where he ran the Di**le Marathon in a time of 3:19:47 for 26th place, just 2 weeks after similar exploits in 'Reykjavik' 👏🏇. Ronan Lawlor crossed the line in an impressive 3:34:13 👏. Meanwhile Mike Griffin continued his preparation for New York in November by doing 1:42:59 in the Half. Well done to club veteran Niall Harris, Nelson Nwakaihe and all the Sanctuary Runners at Parkrun 👏

Dooneen AC is proud of Ellen Goggin and her inclusion in the latest Irish 🇮🇪U17 ⚽️squad. Wherever else she goes from here, we are proud to have had her as a member of this club 🔥🙂

Well done to Shona Keane who was 2nd Woman in the West Waterford Greenway Half Marathon at the weekend in a time of 1:21:02. Also congrats go to Marcella McGrath who was 1st O50 Female in a time of 1:36:06 👏🔥🔺

J.P. Lawlor was a shrewd 'recruit' for Dooneen earlier this year. And he was in top form today, finishing 8th from 110 finishers in a time of 61:06 at the Moreabbey Milers 10 Mile in Galbally Co.Limerick👏🏇🧨

Clubmates Mike Clarke & John Shier both finished in 78:51 with Mikes wife Geraldine Ryan home in 2:12:48.

Eileen Reeves ran the Longford Marathon in a time of 4:23:04 while Alison Flynn was an excellent 'Run Director' at 'UL Parkrun' 👏

Well done to all who took part in the hilly but scenic Curraghchase 10K which was 'revived' today after a 3 year gap. Best placed 'Dooneener' was Louise Matthews who was 4th lady in 46:30 👏. Niall Bennis in 44:07 was 11th male and 13th overall. Other times included Séamus McCarthy 47:47, Kieran O’Brien 47:34, Kieran Edwards (honorary Dooneen 'associate' 47:47 😀 ), June Clifford 57:08, Mike Clarke 52:41, and his wife Geraldine Ryan 59:38, Catherine Sheehan clocked 56:47 while husband and club vice chair John Sheehan, a nearby residents was on the 'lead bike' duties.

Elsewhere in the Dèise County Marcella McGrath was 1st O50 Female in an excellent time of 1:36 🧨👏

Well done to the many Dooneen athletes who represented their 'local area' and county with pride at the Community Games National Finals at SETU Carlow the past weekend 👏🔺💚

Well done to all who ran in the B.M.O.H hosted 'Sixmilebridge 6 Mile' in the Banner County today 👏.

Karen was 3rd woman in 46:49 with Sixmilebridge native Marion O'Halloran 'home' in 1:12:39. Husband and wife pair Geraldine Ryan and Mike Clarke clocked 54:48 and 49:41 respectively ☺️ 👏

B.M.O.H. is a Clare based athletics club with a rich history but had been inactive in recent years and this event, combined with a shorter children's run marked their 'restart'.

Surely the most location exotic location of any Dooneen athlete this weekend is Iceland where Declan Kennedy ran the Reykjavik Marathon in a time of 3:09:40 for 49th place 👏
