Saturday 'Round Up'

Louise Matthews ran 8K of the 'FTD Brothers Foundation Marathon' in Limerick. Jordan and Cian Adams aim to raise money for dementia by running 33 marathons in 33 days across all 32 Irish counties plus London. There was a huge turnout for this most touching of causes which is relevant to every family. Well done all.

Marion O'Halloran and Aly Hogan O'Curry were amongst others who did the Mountjoy Prison 'Progression' Parkrun', an event which aims to provide rehabilitation, routine, structure and community for 'residents' which they can hopefully continue when they leave.

Ian Jennings was 1st finisher in Clarisford Parkrun in 20:43 with Niall Harris, Paul Naughton, J.P. Lawlor, Niall Bennis and Brendan McMahon amongst those who ran well at UL.

Hopefully the club can do well at the Kilmallock AC 4 Mile on Friday night!

Newcastle West was venue for County Juvenile Outdoor Championships last weekend. The weather was kind as hundreds of athletes took part in track, field and relay events. This event is always a wonderful opportunity for children to compete and to showcase the breadth of events that athletes can excel at! Not every young person is a sprinter or long distance runner - so events like long jump, shot put, relays and javelin give us a chance to see the exceptional skill of these young people. Thank you to all the families, coaching staff and volunteers who helped on the day
