Dance artists and dance students will have the chance to take professional morning class with Percolate 2026 artist Orla McCarthy next week as she enjoys a week-long residency at Dance Limerick.

Orla McCarthy is an Irish freelance dance artist working across performance, choreography, and teaching. Orla’s classes explore fluidity, presence and responsiveness through contemporary dance, improvisation and somatic practice. Together we’ll look for greater ease and freedom in the body, while staying present, playful, curious and creatively responsive in the moment.

Percolate 2026 artist Claire Keating will enjoy a two-week residency at Dance Limerick, digging into her new solo work, 'Ololyga'.

In Claire's words, she will "research a performance of a call to action to stand up, to take space, to be fully in presence, and the struggle of this act.

Building on the energy of a successful autumn performance season, our winter activities turn attention to the vital role of research and experimentation in dance practice.

On Tuesday 24 & Wednesday 25 November, we are inviting experienced dance practitioners to a professional gathering where the focus will be on sharing dance practices in an open, enquiring environment with peers.

Over the two-day experience, dance artists Cindy Cummings, Joan Davis, Aoife McAtamney and Siobhán Ní Dhuinnín will each hold a session on aspects of their work that feel key to moving dance research and practices forward in the present and into the future.

There will be good time for food and catch up.

We can offer three accommodation bursaries for one overnight accommodation in Limerick in artists friendly houses. If you are attending and would like to request an accommodation bursary, please contact .[email protected]

Country OK is the work of choreographer and director Siobhán Ni Dhuinnín

Siobhán is a dance artist who enjoys a multidisciplinary and collaborative process. She and has created work with dancers, sean-nós singers, poets, geologists and visual artists. In Country OK, she brings in the collaboration of the cast of dancers and a live band into the fabric of the piece.

A long-time collaborator of Dance Limerick, Siobhán recently performed in Compass Associate Artist Magdalena Hylak's ensemble debut, Racket. In 2024, her work Can I Have Your Best Move? was presented as part of What Next Dance Festival. Siobhán was also Dance Limerick Associate Artist for 2021/22. In 2022, Siobhán and her father, traditional boat-builder Pádraig Ó Duinnín, performed Bád Shiobhán to great audience success.

Siobhán is an Arts Council Next Generation Award & Markievicz Award recipient. She was Associate Artist at the Irish World Academy. (2021-2022). She often works bi-lingually in Irish and English and was Dance Artist in Residence, Gaeltacht Mhúscraí 2018-2020. She has worked and performed with Joan Davis, Magdalena Hylak, Jessie Keenan, Junk Ensemble, Laura Murphy, Mary Nunan, Fearghus Ó Conchúir and Mary Wycherley.

Featuring an inter-generational dance cast from across Limerick, joined by professional dancers with a live band, Country OK invites audiences to join the dance floor after the performance (optional, of course, but hard to resist!)

We are excited to welcome Wanjiru Kamuyu to Dance Limerick next week as part of her 2026 Irish Tour.

On Thursday 8 October, audiences will have the chance to see ‘An Immigrant’s Story’, a solo that interrogates the gaze upon the “foreigner” in a new space, new society.

A cosmopolitan on three continents – Africa, North America and Europe – wherever the artist decides to set up home, is she considered an immigrant?

The work, through satire, offers a critical eye on the notions of place and placement that are prevalent in today’s political discourse.
