We are really excited to announce ‘Trial’, the 2026 production by Mufutau Yusuf

A coven of witches gathers for a trial. They have been summoned to defend themselves, yet no accusation is ever revealed. The crime is absent, forgotten, or perhaps it never existed at all. Still, they proceed, constructing their innocence through testimony, gesture, and ritual, creating meaning in the absence of certainty.

A ceremonial, ritualistic piece that explores femininity, community and care as intertwined ways of gathering and relating. Through collective gestures and shared presence, it approaches ritual as a space where care, solidarity, and transformation can emerge, not through resolution, but through the act of coming together itself.

Step Up Dance Project is a partnership between the The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon, Dance Limerick, the Irish World Academy at the University of Limerick and Dance Ireland. The Step Up Placement Programme is in partnership with LuailDance - Ireland’s National Dance Company.

Our studio is alive with music and dance this week thanks to Percolate 2026 Artist Ranóg Townsend

Ranóg is an all Ireland winning sean nós dance artist and educator from Lixnaw, Co. Kerry. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Irish Music and Dance and Masters of Arts in Ethnochoreology from the Irish World Academy, where she currently lectures in percussive dance on undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Her approach to dance focuses on how it sits within the music, placing value on the that is cultivated between dancers and musicians. Over the years she has shared the stage with some of Ireland’s most influential acts and dancers including Sharron Shannon, Aoife Scott, and Nic Gareiss. In 2023, with over twelve years teaching experience, she launched Fite Fuaite Dance, a project to share her passion for movement and the traditional arts with others of all ages and abilities.

Her and collaborator Aisling Byrne will be developing ‘Cistine’, a collaborative work grounded in connection, listening, and the influence of home.

Open Call for Dancers based in Ireland

In March and April 2027, Aerowaves, in partnership with Dance Limerick, will invite up to six early career dancers based in Ireland to join Artistic Exchange Ireland/Québec, a project in collaboration with La Danse sur les Routes du Quebéc.

The selected dancers will work with Québec choreographer Alexandre Morin and dramaturge Mathieu Leroux to adapt their acclaimed piece Cutting Through the Noise for site-specific spaces in Limerick.

The project includes online sessions in Feb/March, a residency at Dance Limerick from 30 March to 14 April, and a public showing on 14 April at Spring Forward.

What we offer & what we look for:

Selected artists will receive a €1,500 fee. Accommodation will be paid and arranged for on your behalf in artist-friendly houses. Please note that no other additional expenses can be supported.

We’re looking for curious, open‑minded artists ready for international collaboration.

We can't wait to celebrate Limerick Pride week by dancing together on the 8th if July

As a culmination of Pride Dance Project, a creative dance project for all LGBTQIA+ identifying people and allies, where we hold a series of workshops that introduce people to different dance styles, we are holding a celebratory, family-friendly dance party where everyone can join the project participants and dance artists and teachers to move their bodies, listen to music and celebrate Pride together.
