Woman, if you were looking for a sign to trust your knowing, your gut, your body, your instinct, your intuition, let this be it.
A situation arose this week where my body was giving me information about something that made no logical sense. I tried to rationalise and see things from many perspectives, but ultimately I could not ignore that instinct.
I turned out to be right and really saved myself from a sticky situation at best, and having an old story of violation repeat itself at worst.
I have been reflecting on instincts as protection and how conditioned women have been to over ride those instincts in every aspect of life in order to be "good", "proper", respected and ultimately controllable.
I've also been reflecting on the subconscious urge that is often embedded in our tissues and psyche to have certain situations (especially ones that involve some form of boundary crossing / violation) replay again and again and again until we ultimately resolve the experience / claim our power back.
What nuanced and complex beings we are!
This is the heart of the work we are tasked with; disentangling the wounded parts and stories from our instincts and wholly wise selves with care and clear sight.
Coming into daily contact with our bodies, our tissues, our multiple parts and welcoming home the parts of us that have fragmented through touch, sound, movement and ritual is my portal of integration.
That is the invitation of Echo & Bone; to give embodied voice to the multiple parts that make us whole, to tend to those who need to be seen and heard, to be in daily contact with our bodies, our tissues, the natural world around us - so that our intuition can come online in a precise and integrated way. So that our sight, our voice, our knowing can be clarified into one unified system of gnosis.
