Who doesn't love Formula Student racing? Engineering students getting to build and rip around in their own little race cars. These guys use MTB suspension, on this one Fox Float X2 shocks on each corner.

We helped Sam from the team with dyno data for the specific tunes they were using so they could run off-track simulations and better understand their suspension.

They were so stoked they put our Shockcraft logo on their car. Great job guys.

20 Years of Shockcraft:
In 2006 Shockcraft started as a hobby supplying seals and custom parts for bike suspension. 2007 it changed from a hobby to a registered company. This year we mark 20 Years; that's two whole decades of Shockcraft. In the last 2 decades we've created a new industry in New Zealand, become famous worldwide and exported our products and services across the globe, including to countries you've never heard of.

We are completely stoked with how we've grown. 20 years ago we never expected to be employing staff and constantly exporting. International sales are ~1/3 of our revenue and provide year round demand. Our customers worldwide not only purchase suspension and parts but send us forks and shocks for tuning and repair. The suspension sent to us ranges from brand new suspension that no-one else can tune correctly to vintage parts that no-one else can repair and support.

We also carry a unique position of trust in the industry. In a world where everyone needs certified and trained, we do not. Every brand simply trusts us to service their products. We have a total of zero certifications.

Customer hit a rock (yeah it's a problem here) and broke the k**b and attached needle off. If you've got one, email or call.

Stop your forks and shocks looking like this inside. Mid-winter is the best time for suspension service and your suspension will love you for it. Book and send your forks, shocks and droppers now.

We have another big service push coming - the cavalry is coming next week and staying until the queue hits zero. Get your suspension here for the shortest day and we'll get them back for July Night Rides.

Scary picture index:
1. Fox air shaft that turned its grease into tar.
2. Fox F34 which was ridden in the wet with leaking wipers. Aluminium does corrode!
3 & 4. A Rockshox Judy that was returning to the earth from within.

Remember when riding in winter to dry out your bike, wipe all wet or dry mud off the stanchions and unpack any mud from around the seals. We want your suspension to work well and last until retirement.

Same, but different. Pull shocks have long been a total PITA for suspension service. But no matter which one is causing you issues we can sort them out.

The Fox DYAD RT2 was used on Cannondale Jekyl about a decade ago. The DT/Scott Equalizer 2/3 were used on Scott bikes up almost two decades ago. The basic function is the same, but the details are all different.

Internally they run a solid piston to push oil through two base-valves to two air-backed spring chambers. Positive air pressure is in those chambers, negativ air is behind the main piston. The climb mode uses a spool valve to shut off oil to one of the chambers which limits travel and makes it very progressive.

Setup wise these run high air pressures and normally need a special pump. Both rebound adjusters should be set the same. Positive air sets your full stroke stiffness, negative air sets your ride height and initial softness.
