2027 Tournament Interest - Men's & Women's Teams

We're exploring the opportunity to send a Central Otago Men's and a Women's team away to this tournament next year and are currently gauging interest to see which categories we have enough numbers to enter.
If you're aged 35 or over, you're eligible for NZ Masters hockey

To help us assess player interest, we'll be holding a couple of informal run-arounds on the 18th and 25th October. These sessions will give players a chance to get together, have some fun, and help us determine whether we have enough numbers to move forward.
If you're interested in being part of a team, please register your interest via the link below:
https://www.playhq.com/hockey-new-zealand/register/5f6330

This isn't a commitment at this stage, but it will help us with planning and understanding what teams we may be able to enter.

Spread the word and tag anyone who might be keen!

Back-to-Back Tessa Jopp Trophy Champions!

What a weekend in Dunedin! Our four teams played some fantastic hockey, with plenty of laughs, new friendships, and unforgettable moments making the trip just as special as the results on the field.
Otago certainly put on all four seasons for us, with sunshine, wind, rain, and even hail making an appearance. Its safe to say we felt right at home in those cold conditions!

A huge congratulations to all of our players, coaches, managers, umpires, and supporters who made the trip and helped make the weekend such a success. Retaining the Tessa Jopp Trophy for the second year in a row is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the hard work, commitment, and passion shown by everyone involved with our association.

A special thank you to Otago Hockey Association for hosting such a well-run tournament and ensuring everything ran smoothly throughout the weekend. And to Hockey Southland thank you for joing it was fantastic having you involved this year.
We would also like to give a massive shout-out to our own umpires, Myloh and Tom, for making the trip over and giving up their time to support the tournament and our association.

There are a few tired bodies around the region today, but plenty of smiles as we celebrate another successful Tessa Jopp Trophy tournament.

Congratulations to everyone involved. Back-to-back champions has a pretty good ring to it, and we can't wait to defend the trophy again next year!

Good luck to our Central Otago Teams heading to the Tessa Jopp tournament in Dunedin this weekend

It is hard to believe we are already wrapping up our six-week development program. Over the past few weeks, we have seen players step outside their comfort zones, build confidence, develop skills, and create new friendships along the way.

This weekend is a chance to put all that hard work into action, but most importantly, it's a chance to enjoy a great weekend of hockey with your teammates!

Travel safe!

One last dance
Women's 5th & 6th Playoff
Men's 3rd & 4th Playoff
ALL IN

18/09/2026

In a tense battle against Tauranga today, the women dug deep to come away with a hard-fought 1-0 victory. They will now battle it out for 5th & 6th.

Our men also left it all out on the turf, putting up a huge fight against Tasman before narrowly going down 2-1. Their sights are now set on 3rd and 4th playoff.
