Premier Semi Finals
The Women's Quarter Finals delivered plenty of excitement last weekend!
Upper Clutha dominated Wakatipu to secure their place straight through to next Saturday's Grand Final.
Cromwell took a while to warm up against Alexandra, but once the wheels started turning, there was no stopping them, powering away to a convincing 6-2 victory.
Matakanui earned a well-deserved win over the Braves to keep their season alive.
Now it's down to the Semi Finals this Saturday!
11:00am | Wakatipu vs. Cromwell
Can Wakatipu bounce back and prove they have what it takes to stop Cromwell? Or will Cromwell continue their charge and keep their finals hopes alive?
12:30pm | Matakanui vs. Alexandra.
Matakanui will look to build on last week's momentum, while Alexandra will be determined to bounce back and fight for a chance for 3rd & 4th

Can the Mavs finally break the curse of the draw when it matters most and knock off top-of-the-table Wakatipu? The last time these two teams met, they couldn't be separated, finishing in a thrilling 4-4 draw. Something has to give this weekend!

The temperatures may be dropping, but the competition is heating up as we reach the closing chapter of Senior Reserve Hockey for 2026. Across two nights of finals action, our teams will take the field one last time to battle it out for final placings and those all-important 2026 bragging rights. For some players, these matches will mark the last time they wear the colours of their school or club team, bringing a special hockey journey to a close and opening the door to new opportunities ahead. So, wrap up warm, pack the sidelines, cheer loudly, celebrate the season that was, and enjoy some great hockey, great company, and a sweet treat from Mr Whippy.

LADIES QUARTER FINALS HOCKEY BEGINS THIS SATURDAY 🏑
While our Men's competition takes a break before next weekend's semi-finals, the spotlight shifts to the Ladies competition, where months of hard work, commitment, and determination have led to this crucial stage of the season.
With a place in the Grand Final on 16 August up for grabs, every result counts.
Saturday is packed with back-to-back games
2:00pm Wakatipu Women vs Upper Clutha the winner of this match will secure a direct place in the Grand Final on 16 August. The loser will still have a second chance to fight their way into the championship match.
3:30pm Cromwell A vs Alexandra the winner of this game will earn the opportunity to take on the loser of the Wakatipu Women vs Upper Clutha match for a shot at a Grand Final.
5:00pm Matakanui vs Cromwell Braves
The final game of the day will see Matakanui and Cromwell Braves take the field, with the winner advancing to play the loser of Alex Vs Cromwell semi

MONTHS OF HARD WORK COME DOWN TO THIS!
Months of training, late nights, road trips, tough matches, and unwavering commitment, our Senior Reserve teams have reached the business end of the season.
The semi-finals are here, and over the next two days teams will be putting everything on the line as they chase finals , higher placings, and the reward for all the hard work they've put in throughout the year.
THURSDAY 30th JULY| SENIOR GIRLS| SEMI FINALS

A place in the Grand Final on 6 August awaits this winner, where DHS 1sts are already waiting. Both teams have earned their place in this match through months of dedication and will be leaving everything out on the turf. If you're in Queenstown, get along and make some noise from the sidelines!
Semi Final 2 Cromwell |4:45pm DHS Red vs DHS Black An all-Dunstan showdown with local bragging rights and a chance to play for 3rd & 4th place next week on the line.

The countdown to the 2026 Year 7 & 8 Tessa Jopp Tournament is officially on, and the trophy is taking a wee road trip to Dunedin!
Central Otago proudly took home the trophy in last year's inaugural tournament. Now we're looking for our next group of players to represent the region and defend the title.
Tournament Dates: 26–27 September
Eligibility: Open to all players in the Kwik Sticks grade.
This year we are offering two tier options:
Competitive or Development
6-Week Programme
Weeks 1–3: Player Development
Weeks 4–6: Team Focus

EDIT: Apologies, the eligibility information originally posted was incorrect. Eligibility for the National U16s is limited to players born in 2010 and 2011 only.
Development is still open for players years 9 and above as long as they are Under 16 as of the 1st January.
A reminder that Under 16 Trials commence this Sunday 1st August, and there's still time to get your name down! We're especially keen to see more of our Year 9 and 10 boys putting their hands up and giving it a go. Player registrations will now close Thursday night 30th July, so please ensure you complete your registration before then.
We are also seeking a team of dedicated coaches to support our Under 16 programme and head away to the respective tournaments.
