Bowls Central Otago

Close matches today for our Omakau Women Nikki Milne and Debbie Jackson in the Champion of Champion pairs at the Bowls Hastings.

After two good wins yesterday, they came up against some closer games today. First up was Martinborough BC with a loss 17-19 shots. Our women then got through the qualifiers with a one shot win on an extra end to the highly rated team of Kirsty Hill and Janine Wiki from Takaroa BC. (Kirsty just won the women's singles a few weeks ago)

Nikki and Debbie then played in the round of 16. against the Waihi Beach RSA BC team. A loss on the final end of one shot sadly has knocked them out of the competition. So close.......

Well done Dave and Alister. Just missing out on qualifying with a loss of 14-16 to Whangamata BC in their final game tonight. Two good wins over Kaikorai and Te Karaka. Great work.

A Tremendous battle is over:
Our ladies from Omakau have failed to qualify. Must have been a great game to watch: this morning. They were up by 3 shots to Elmwood Park BC going into the last end and lost a 4. They then went down to Bowls Taradale. Great effort Nikki, Angela, Rayleen and Debbie. Well done.

Our ladies 4s just beat Nelson 14-13. Great work.

The Alexandra District Club men gave us some great TV viewing for a Sunday afternoon. They played so well against sterling opposition. Second in New Zealand!!!
