💫 HUB HQ UPDATE 💫

A quick update on what’s been happening behind the scenes.

We’ve been working on two important areas — sponsorship and our pathway towards becoming a not-for-profit.

We’ve met with some not-for-profit organisations who are happy to support us through the process of setting up a not-for-profit organisation if we are able to secure the sponsorship needed to keep Hub HQ open.

We’ve also been reaching out to potential sponsors.

On Friday 31st July, we sent 22 emails requesting an in-person meeting with potential sponsors.

Since then, we’ve met with 2 potential sponsors and had some really encouraging conversations. 🚀

It’s early days, but it’s a start!

We’d also love to hear from our community.
If you have a suggestion for a business we should reach out to, know of a funding opportunity, or have an idea we haven’t thought of, we’d love to hear it.

🌟 Meet Nikki! 🌟

We're so excited to officially welcome Nikki to the Hub HQ family!

Nikki has joined us to lead our After School Care programme and has settled into her new routine beautifully. The kids have absolutely loved having her around already, and her warm, caring nature has made her a wonderful addition to the team.

For now, Nikki is with us through to our scheduled closing date. But as many of you know, we're working incredibly hard behind the scenes to secure the support we need to keep Hub HQ open.

If we're successful, we're thrilled to say that Nikki will become a permanent fixture at Hub HQ, continuing to support and care for our amazing tamariki for years to come.

After sharing our post about Hub HQ closing, we were completely overwhelmed by the incredible support we've received through your comments, private messages, and words of encouragement.

Your kindness has sparked a fire in me to explore every possible option before we close our doors. One pathway is transitioning Hub HQ into a not-for-profit organisation, but we can't make that happen without sponsorship and financial support to keep Hub HQ operating while we work through the approximately five-month application process.

This week is full of meetings with potential sponsors and supporters, and we're hoping they'll see the value Hub HQ brings to the families of our community. Nothing is guaranteed, but we're giving it everything we've got.

Wish us luck. 🤞✨ Thank you for believing in us and for reminding us that Hub HQ is worth fighting for. No matter what happens, we're incredibly grateful for every one of you. 💙

Hi everyone,

It is with a very heavy heart that we share some difficult news.

Unfortunately, because we have been unable to meet the building's rental requirements, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to close Hub HQ.

Over the past three months, we have tried everything possible to keep our doors open. We explored every option we could, but the reality is that our family home is now on the line. With two young children and another baby on the way, we need to put our family first and focus on repaying the debts from the business.

Our final day of operation will be Sunday, 6th September 2026

Until our final day, it will be business as usual, and we'd love to welcome you through our doors to enjoy Hub HQ one last time.

If you have any concession cards, free entry vouchers, prize vouchers, or other Hub HQ vouchers, we strongly encourage you to use them before 6th September, as they will no longer be valid after we close.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every family, child, school, community group, and local business who has supported us.

You helped create something truly special, and we will always be grateful for the memories, friendships, and smiles that Hub HQ brought to so many families.
