Electra & Hoof Fairy Paste

9 July 2026 | Diagnosis
Electra was diagnosed by our veterinarian with Equine Pastern Dermatitis (Mud Fever). The affected area was cleaned and iodine applied. With no improvement the following day, I began using Hoof Fairy Paste.

17 July 2026 | One week
Hoof Fairy Paste was applied every 3–4 days to clean, dry skin. The Paste formed a durable barrier over the affected area, helping protect it from persistent winter mud and moisture.

After one week, I gently hosed the area clean and was very pleased to see a significant improvement in the skin underneath.

10 August 2026 | One month
After one month of using Hoof Fairy Paste, the affected area had completely healed, with healthy skin and new hair growth clearly visible.

20 August 2026 | Ongoing protection
With the skin now healthy, I continue to apply Hoof Fairy Paste approximately once a week to clean, dry skin as a protective barrier.

The final photo demonstrates exactly what I wanted the Paste to achieve — despite extremely muddy conditions, the protective layer remains in place, helping prevent the wet mud from reaching the skin beneath.

A little magic for healthy, happy hooves is on its way…

The Pony Parlour has grown from a love of horses, natural ingredients and a desire to find simple, effective solutions to the hoof-care challenges our climate can create.

Our formulas bring together beeswax, lanolin, mineral rich clay, non-nano zinc oxide, nourishing oils, pine tar and carefully selected essential oils known for their broad spectrum anti microbial and anti fungal properties. These traditional, natural ingredients were chosen to protect, nourish and support healthy hoof repair.

Our first two products, Hoof Fairy Paste and Hoof Fairy Putty, are now in the beta-testing phase, being trialled on real horses and real hooves before they’re ready to be shared more widely.
