++ 2pm Sunday Coaching @ Queenspark is ON
++ Quizznight Fundraiser for Sarah Wadsworth's US trip
--> Gidday, Thermo-Plastic People! As per usual, we'll be at Queenspark Reserve from 2 until 3pm Sunday, to work on anything you feel needs work. But let us take a look at your form, and see if there are other things we can identify, as needing work. The largest room in the world, will always be Room For Improvement. :)
--> Paul Wadsworth sends word of the final Quizznight Fundraiser for Sarah's trip to the USA, where she will become by far the youngest person to ever play in a DGPT event: The Champions Landing Open. In fact, we think she will be the first Kiwi female to ever play a DGPT event of any kind.
Vortica is proud to sponsor Sarah, and we wish her and Paul the best overseas trip of all time.

We are super pleased to announce we have a new team member joining the Vortica Team for the 2026/27 season! Kate Pitcaithly ( ) has been doing wonderful things for disc golf down in Dunedin and we are super happy to have her on board!
Here is what Kate had to say: I’ve been playing for 3 years, my partner Troy and I got discs as a fun date idea and have never put them down! My biggest goal is to grow the game for women, having more of them playing both socially and competitively, as a co-founder of “Dunedin women’s disc golf” we are slowly working towards this goal. My personal goal for this season that I would love to achieve is becoming 800+ rated!
We look forward to seeing what you have in store Kate

++ 2pm Sunday coaching at Queenspark Reserve is ON
++ Get ready for night golf
--> Gidday, drop dodgers! It's not going to be warm for coaching tomorrow, but it will be dry. And you'll keep warm throwing, so there's no reason not to come down, and improve your skills. The day's main topic will be controlling nose angle, but we will be addressing whatever issues you face in your own game, as well.
See you just past Basket one, on Radiata Avenue.
--> Vortica has a great range of glow discs, as well as MVP LED Tri-Lights for lighting up translucent plastic discs for night play. We've also taken delivery of some fiercely powerful UV torches to charge up your existing glow discs.
Keep warm, everyone, and...

++ Amberley Domain teepads completed
--> Gidday, plastic spinners! Hard-working Mark Grover, the driving force behind our design at Amberley Domain, sends word of the completion of the paved teepads for the course.
Martin and myself greatly enjoyed playing the course on our return from our Hanmer design mission, and with the teepads installed, Amberley is now a highly enjoyable, and quite challenging disc golf destination.
If you are unsure how to get there simple say, "Hey Google, navigate to Amberley Domain disc golf course" and your phone will take you there directly.
May we ask and remind all visitors to Amberley to spend a few dollars while there, and tell the operators you greatly enjoyed coming out from town to play their course. That will reduce the wait for the next nine baskets at Amberley.

++ Another 9-basket Community Course for Christchurch's East
++ Sarah W wins Women's Global Event in FJ12
--> Gidday, plastic addicts! Monday saw Vortica submitting a new 9-basket school-based Community DGC design for the city. Its location is currently undergoing some ground work, and the course will be installed once this work is complete. This will be a private course, which will be open to the public. We'll let you know where, the instant the baskets go in.
We've been careful to design a track which rewards and encourages newcomers, while challenging experts to take nine birdies. The baskets are strategically placed so players may elect to make the course substantially more challenging, when course traffic is low.
--> While I was teaching the fastest possible way to become more accurate at our Queenspark coaching session on Sunday, Sarah was dominating the world (yet again) competing in the Women's Global Event at Kaiapoi Domain.
Sarah threw a 913-rated round to beat her American friend Hayden Harper, who managed 900. Congratulations, Sarah!
Our deep thanks go out to hard-working locals Ewan Craig and Hayden Bonney of CCDG, for running this important event for women.
