What a weekend of representative netball at the Netball Sports Centre!🏐

We were proud to host both the U16 Tupuranga Representative Championship and the U18 King's Birthday Representative Tournament over the long weekend, welcoming teams, coaches, officials, volunteers and supporters from netball centres across Te Waipounamu.

From Invercargill to Nelson and everywhere in between, it was fantastic to see so many talented young athletes come together to compete, connect and create memories on and off the court.

A huge thank you to all the players, coaches, managers, game officials, volunteers, supporters and staff who helped make the weekend such a success. Events like these simply couldn't happen without the incredible people who give their time and energy to our game.

Congratulations to all teams who took part, and thank you for making Christchurch and the Netball Sports Centre part of your representative journey. We loved having you here and wish everyone safe travels home🏐✨

We can’t wait to host the Junior South Island Secondary School Tournament later this year!✨🏐

The South Island Secondary School Junior Netball Tournament has moved indoors — and we’re stoked to help keep it affordable with an $11,500 NZCT grant 🙌

Player, Amelie Martin, says, “SISS junior netball gave me a great start in my netball career – the opportunity to experience competitive tournament play, multiple games in a day and having to adapt to tournament situations. It’s also a great chance to connect with players from schools all over the South Island and create lifelong memories and friendships.”

NZCT are huge supporters of netball and sport in general – especially for young people. We even put $1m into the construction of the Netball Sports Centre where this event is being held.

NZCT can fund this community good thanks to the fundraising partnerships we share with local hospitality venues via their responsible gaming lounges.

We are incredibly proud to see inclusive programmes like this growing within our Christchurch Netball community and coming to life here at the Netball Sports Centre!❤️🖤

Tonight we were so excited to welcome new participants into our Christchurch Netball community through our first New to Netball – Women’s Only Have a Go Session✨

Created especially to provide a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for women from all cultures and communities, the session was filled with connection, laughter, movement, and plenty of encouragement🏐🙌

Whether participants were completely new to netball, returning after time away, or simply keen to give something new a go, it was incredible to see everyone out on court enjoying netball their way💫

Thank you to the team at Welcome Academy and AME Leadership, for supporting and helping connect women into this opportunity within our community!

We would absolutely love to make this a regular part of our programme offering and continue growing this welcoming space for women in our community🌿

🚧Important Access Update | Ngā Puna Wai🚧

From Monday 18 May, construction work will begin on the McMahon Drive roundabout entrance at Ngā Puna Wai. The project is expected to take approximately four weeks (weather dependent).

During this time, there will be no vehicle access via McMahon Drive. All vehicle access will be via Augustine Drive only, while pedestrian access from all entries will remain open.

Please allow extra travel time when attending trainings, games, or programmes onsite.
