We’re excited to announce the launch of our RWAFC Ages 6–8 Micro Academy Skills School! 💥

A great opportunity for our young players to develop their football skills, build confidence and most importantly, have fun! 🙌⚽️

📅 Starting: Tuesday 18 August
📍 Ellis Park
⏰ From 4.30pm–5.15/5.30pm
👦👧 Ages 6–8

The programme will begin with an initial 5-week block, with the aim of extending it beyond the first five weeks.

💰 Investment: $50 per person
That’s just $10 per session!😯

Ages will be split into different time slots once registrations have been received and finalised. We’ll be in touch with exact session times once registrations are confirmed.

⚽️ABL Premier Men Match Report 💥

Roslyn Wakari - 4 Dunedin City Royals - 1

We hosted Royals at Ellis Park No. 1 and didn’t get off to the ideal start, conceding directly from a corner just three and a half minutes into the game. The response from the boys was excellent though, and around 10 minutes later we were back on level terms through Ben Williams-Davies, who finished really well to make it 1-1.

From that point on, we had some very good spells throughout the first half. Our defensive structure worked extremely well, forcing Royals to play long balls, which suited us. We won a lot of second balls and were able to transition quickly, playing through the lines and into our front players. We created several good opportunities but couldn’t quite find the finishing touch until just before halftime, when Wilkie finished well to give us a deserved 2-1 lead heading into the break.

The halftime message was to keep doing what we’d been doing, continue connecting our passes, play through the lines, and stay positive.

The second half was one of our better performances of the season. We dominated possession for long periods and controlled the game well. Around 10–15 minutes after the restart, Archie scored his first senior goal to extend the lead to 3-1, which was a great moment for him. We continued to create chances and, on another day, could easily have added a few more goals.

Our fourth came from another excellent move down the right-hand side, with Hunter getting on the end of the cross to head home his first senior goal. It capped off a fantastic team move and sealed the 4-1 victory.

The final stages of the match were equally pleasing. Royals applied some pressure, but the team showed real commitment defensively, worked hard in transition, and saw the game out without conceding again.

Overall, it was a very satisfying 4-1 win with plenty of positives to take from the performance.

Player of the Match: Hunter. He was outstanding all afternoon, winning tackles, competing for every ball, covering plenty of ground, and capped off his performance with his first senior goal. A thoroughly deserved Player of the Match performance.

🏆 Congratulations to our Rostron Finance Roslyn Wakari AFC Originals on winning the +35s league!

The Originals secured the title with a 3–2 win over Green Island AFC, capping off a strong season with a well-earned championship.

Congratulations to the players, coaches and everyone involved. A great achievement for the team and the club. 🐴⚽️🖤🤍
