💥ABL Premier Men Match Report⚽️

Roslyn 2 – 2 University

A well-deserved point was earned by Roslyn under the lights on the turf on Saturday night, producing what was arguably the team's best overall performance of the season against a very talented University side.

Roslyn started the game strongly and took the lead through Ben Williams-Davies, who finished brilliantly after an excellent attacking move. The home side continued to press and doubled their advantage when Kaspa danced through the defence before finding the back of the net with a quality finish to make it 2-0.

University responded just before halftime, pulling a goal back with a well-taken header from a cross to leave the score at 2-1 heading into the break.

The visitors applied significant pressure early in the second half, but Roslyn showed great discipline and work ethic without the ball, defending collectively and limiting opportunities. University eventually found an equaliser from the penalty spot to level the scores at 2-2.

Rather than sitting back, Roslyn demonstrated real character in the closing stages. The team finished the game strongly, creating a number of scoring opportunities and coming agonisingly close to finding a winner on several occasions.

It was a brilliant team performance from start to finish. Wilkie worked tirelessly up front, while Kaspa and Flynn were outstanding in midfield. The substitutes also made a huge impact, with Hunter and Dan both excellent after entering the game.

Two players shared the Man of the Match honours. Joe was strong, composed and dominant at centre-back throughout, while Ben Williams-Davies produced his best performance of the season at striker, scoring the opening goal and posing a constant threat to the University defence.

Overall, it was Roslyn's best team performance of the season and one that the squad can be extremely proud of.

The team now has a week off due to Chatham Cup fixtures before returning to Ellis Park to take on Queens Park.

Lance,

🎉 Happy Birthday to our committee member and events co-ordinator, Jimmy (aka Bridgette Russell)!

Jimmy has been a part of the Roslyn Wakari family since 1984, alongside her late husband Bob Russell, and it's fair to say she has become part of the furniture around the club.

Whether it's helping organise events, playing for the Shetlands or simply being part of the fabric of the club, Jimmy has been a much-loved member of Roslyn Wakari for decades.

We hope you have a fantastic birthday Jimmy! 🖤🤍🥳
