Turanganui-a-Kiwa Primary & Intermediate Touch Module

Dates: 17 October - 5 December (8 weeks)
Venue: Watson Park
Year Group: 1-2 mixed, 3-4 mixed, 5-6 mixed, 7-8 Girs/Boys/Mixed
Cost: $200 per team

Dates: 31 October - 12 December (7 weeks)
Venue: Waikirikiri Park
Year Groups/Format: Year 1-4 T-Ball, Year 5-6 & 7-8 Softball
Cost: FREE
Draw Timings: T-ball games (Yr1-4) 9-10am, Softball games (Yr 5-8) 10-11.00am

School Triathlon - Coming up in Term 4, Week 1 on Wednesday 14th October.

This triathlon is for students who are able to complete the course in a timely fashion and are looking to do their absolute best. This is not a give it a go race. They will discuss this with their teachers on Thursday.

The triathlon involves many students and their gear. For this reason we are seeking whanau support to drop off and collect bikes and students to and from Nelson park. You would need to drop them off by 9am. At the completion of the triathlon their bike can be taken home or returned to school with your child. We will have transport available to take students back to school but not their bikes.

When: Wednesday 14th October 2026
Where: Nelson Park & Enterprise Aquatic Centre
Why: To provide an opportunity to qualify for the S11 Inter School Triathlon on Friday 13th November 2026

Race TIMES:
9:30 Course overview
9:45 Yr 8 Girls
9:55 Yr 8 Boys
10:05 Yr 7 Girls
10:15 Yr 7 Boys
11:15 Bus will return students to school

Students will need:
Wear appropriate clothing for each leg (PE gear)
running = Must run in shoes (compulsory)
cycling = a bike, helmet and shoes (compulsory)
swimming = suitable togs and towel
Bring a water bottle and something to eat
Organise any medication, e.g asthma inhalers

On behalf of Gisborne Pony Club, I am pleased to invite your students to take part in VetEast Inter-Schools Competition.

📍 Venue: Poverty Bay A&P Showgrounds
📅 Date: Sunday, 4th October 2026

ENTRIES CLOSE Friday 18th September 2026

🕣 Start Time: 8:30 AM
👥 Open To: All New Zealand primary, intermediate, and high school students

The event will be run in divisions for Primary, Intermediate, and High School riders, giving students of all ages the opportunity to represent their schools in a fun and supportive competition.

Poverty Bay Rugby is looking to connect with Year 7 & 8 girls across our region who would be interested in getting involved in rugby.

You might already play rugby.

You might play another sport and want to give rugby a go.

Or you might have never played rugby before but would like to learn, have fun and be part of something with other girls your age.

We want to hear from you!

We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest as we look at opportunities to develop an U14 Girls Rugby Programme for our region.

EASTLAND BADMINTON CHAMPIONS!

A massive congratulations to our Gisborne Intermediate Badminton players, who brought home the overall top school trophy at the Eastland Badminton Intermediate Tournament today!

Our players delivered outstanding performances across the board:

Guy Wright & Harry McPhail: Undefeated in the boys' singles AND went completely undefeated together in the doubles!

Elayna Ang: Won all of her singles matches in the girls' division!

Amory Labuschagne: Secured a great singles victory, and paired up with Elayna to take 2 out of 4 doubles wins!

Way to represent GIS with incredible skill and determination, team! We are so proud of you all! Smash-hit effort!
