Super 11 Basketball
The teams have had a great day. They have just left Rotorua so should be home by 7:15pm.
Girls
Game 1v Rotorua
21-11 to Rotorua.
Our opening game was a tough one. The girls teamwork shone in this game with the way they worked hard to defend the opposition's basket. Evah and Talia worked together to guide the team to learn how to work to our strengths to bring the ball down to our basket.
Game 2 v Otumoetai
7-7 draw
This was a close game, with strong defense from both teams. Every shot counted.
Game 3 v Mount
16 - 26 to Mount
To start with this was a close game with some great defensive teamwork, the girls kept their cool under heavy defense from the Mount.
Evah captained our team with calm guidance and strong point guard and finishing.
Rea used her passiles to create opportunities for her team to shoot.
Maria, Amine, Hine, Skye - worked hard in every game to defend and shut down the opposition's attack.
Leila used her height and fought for the rebounds under both baskets.
Talia was strong in point guard bringing the ball down time and again and driving to the hoop.
Kirsten ran tireless defense for her team.
Boys
Good day of basketball for the boys.
1st game we had a close win against Rotorua 17-14.
In our 2nd game we won against Te Puke 22-12.
Our 3rd game we let it slip away, but managed to get a 18 all draw against Kaitao.
In our last game of the pool play we needed to win to play in the gold medal game. We bet Otumotai 23-14 we line up a chance to play Tauranga in the final.
The final didn’t go to plan but they were a very good team. We ended up going down 34-10.
Well done both teams!
