PARC (Pukahu & Hawkes Bay Adult Riding Club) Our aim is to cater for all levels of riders. We also hold a few shows each year where lots of ribbons and cool prizes can be up for grabs. Hope to see you soon!

Pukahu & Hawkes Bay Adult Riding Club was established by a group of likeminded individuals who had a common interest in coming together and enjoying our horses our beautiful district and each other's company. PARC (Pukahu and Hawkes Bay Adult Riding Club) is a fun and friendly riding club that allows any and all levels of riders 21yrs and over to come and enjoy rallies of many kinds. We all get together and encourage each other, whether it be show jumping, eventing, dressage, trekking, training, playing around, hoof ball and anything you can think of. PARC is committee run and we hold our AGM where every member can come and vote, nominate or just have a say. We are always open to suggestions and good ideas – the best part is, if you want to see a rally or event happen, you can organise it yourself so it’s exactly how you imagined. So if you’re in the Hawkes Bay area, whether you’re near or far, we’d love to hear from you and join our ranks. Membership is only $40 per year, and our club grounds are at the Hawkes Bay Equestrian Park in Flaxmere, Hastings. There are heaps of facilities at our disposal, so come check them out.

Hi, everyone! Happy Friday
I wanted to share a few photos of the fun we had last Sunday. Ingrid was our coach extraordinaire, super turnout, the weather was lovely and the arena fantastic! Even the spicy spring ponies were good kids. Have a super weekend everyone.

Something important is changing for horse riders on New Zealand roads.

From Thursday, 1 October, new passing distance legislation comes into effect, providing greater protection for vulnerable road users, including people on horseback. Motorists will be required to leave a minimum of 1.5 metres when overtaking.

Road safety is something we all play a part in.

Space saves lives. Pass wide and slow.

Happy Sunday everyone!
Bit of a brisk one out there today. Hoping everyone's ponies have full tummies and warm rugs.
We had a super time yesterday with the trailer backing class. A lot of proud Cheshire Grins! Amazing achievement by all that attended. Husbands should be impressed! I have a request to host a second lesson for those unable to attend yesterday so will work on getting that organized and on the calendar with plenty of notice. A huge thanks to Bruce for his time and knowledge!! Hopefully, we can twist his arm for a second class.
Have a super Sunday all!
Talk soon!

Quick confession - I attempted to make a post Monday about our event Saturday but due to my lack of technical savvy, seem to have failed. Bu**er.
So here I am, four days late to share with you about tomorrow! My apologies. I hope for those of you that would like to come, I am not too late! Rachael

Morning, everyone!
What a wonderful time we had yesterday at Montana Horse Arena. The weather was a stunner, we had a super turn out and loads of fun was had. Thank you to all who attended and made it a supportive, safe environment with some spring pony brains. And there was some delicious food brought to share. Some of the sweet treat recipes have been requested to be shared with the group so maybe we will branch out into that as a group also!! Have a super week everyone. Hard to go to work on a morning like this when we would all rather be with our horses! Sadly, I am a useless photographer and never remember to capture the moment. Too busy riding! But I will post the ones I did get!! Focus, Rach, focus.
Talk soon, team!!

Hi everyone,

With the warmer weather finally rolling in (and with it the rain today), it’s time to dust off the boots, brush off the mud and get together for a relaxed spring catch-up!

We’re hosting a low-key Spring Social Ride & Shared Lunch to kick off the new season. There’s no pressure, no competition, and no fancy gear required—just a great opportunity to get the horses out, enjoy some fresh air, and catch up with fellow club members.

Event Details:

Date: Sunday Sept 13th

Time: 10am - 1pm

Location: Montana Arena

Format: Mounted socializing / Casual ride on the grounds, in the arena and some small jumps will be set up followed by a shared lunch

What to Bring: Your horse (optional if you just want to come for a chat!), a fold-out chair, your favorite beverage and a plate to share.

Cost: $15 per horse to cover arena fees, yards available booked directly on the Montana website. Maybe you would like to bring your youngster or nervous horse for an in-hand experience!

Whether your horse has had the winter off and needs a gentle warm-up, or you just want to hang out with other riders without the stress of a full event, we’d love to see you there!

Please RSVP by Wednesday 9th so we can get an accurate head count.

To do so please reply directly to this email with your name and how many horses you will be bringing and please make payment of arena fees to the PARC account.

Looking forward to seeing you and your horses!

Rachael
