They say a picture says a thousand words...
This picture definitely says a LOT. 🥹
Yes, that's me at the gym, with a microphone on, and yes... I've got tears in my eyes.
Because I had just finished teaching my first HITT class at CityFitness.
And bloody hell... it was emotional.
This is something I honestly didn't think I'd ever do again.
From the age of 8 — 41 years ago — I knew that teaching movement and fitness in a gym was what I was meant to do.
It's always been such a huge part of me.
Then life happened.
RA happened.
Fibro happened.
And somewhere along the way, I stopped believing that I'd ever get back to this.
I've spent the last few years trying to come to terms with the fact that maybe that part of my life was over.
So to stand there again, microphone in hand, teaching a HIIT class...
I can't even explain what that felt like.
I was nervous as hell beforehand.
Then I started teaching and it was just... ME.
Like I'd never been away.
And when it finished, I had tears in my eyes because I realised just how much I'd missed this.
A massive THANK YOU to Alice for giving me the push I needed, for believing in me and for all your help and encouragement. 🙏
After everything that's happened, I didn't think I'd get this moment.
But I did.
And I'm bloody proud of myself.
I'm back.
Maybe not exactly the same as I was before...
But I'm finding my way back to the part of me that I thought I'd lost.
