What devastating news to wake up to read Lionel Te Riini

You were an amazing Rugby League player of our Club, one of them kinda players you hardly see play like how you and a few others that came out of retirement from playing with the Raiders, no s**t if we weren't winning it be like ahhh f*k it lets get on and f*kn hurt the cunts🤣🤙

You continued to be an amazing supporter to your children who also played for our club, ohhh those days you could always see you be getting itchy feet on the sideline to get back on that field well yelling in support or just telling them players f*kn up the gutts

You were definitely a man that LOVED RUGBY LEAGUE and always in support of keeping this game we all so love going here in Kawerau, last seeing you at our AGM hui

We send our outmost aroha to your children and whānau in this time of sadness

Its been AMAZING seeing all our tamariki enjoy playing and developing in our game

Its been AMAZING seeing all our parents being awesome sideline supporters. Thank yous for getting our tamariki to their trainings and games each week, especially with the travel we had to do. Thank you again for all your KAI KOHA yous gave to both our host days and for always supporting when needed

Its been AMAZING seeing all our coaches, managers & whanau that stepped in to help develop our tamariki each week. THANK yous so much for giving your time to our tamariki, yous are truly appreciated

Thank you to all our Coastline District Clubs that hosted our Carnival days this year, yous put the time in to get those fields ready for us every Sunday for our kids to be able to enjoy playing Rugby League. THANK you to Jordan-Leigh Taite-Potaka and Ko Bianca Ahau for your time and mahi behind the scenes with doing our draws

Now lets celebrate our PLAYERS OF THE DAY and also ALL our tamariki that took that field every Sundays to represent our club.

How is it that this Sunday will be our LAST day of Rugby League for our tamariki? How is it that we have already completed 10 weeks of the season?

With that being said, we would like to thank all our whānau for being absolutely AMAZING — from getting our tamariki to trainings each week, to the huge amount of travelling you have done to get them to their games, especially with the rising cost of fuel and most importantly thank yous for being AMAZING sideline supporters to our tamariki at each game which allowed our tamariki to enjoy their game each week

To our tamariki, it has been an amazing journey watching you all grow and develop in the game we all love. We thank you all for choosing to play Rugby League for our club.

Now let’s enjoy our final game together this Sunday at the home grounds of our Te Paamu Tigers whānau in Paengaroa. 🏉

Can we all agree that we had an amazing day yesterday watching our tamariki playing the BEST game ever on those beautiful green fields with those white pearly lines 👌
