πŸ’šπŸ’™ CALLING ALL JUNIOR CLUB PARENTS… TIME TO EARN YOUR KEEP! πŸ˜‚πŸ”¨πŸ§Ή

The big NOBM CLUBROOM WORKING BEE is happening this Saturday, and we reckon the Junior Club better supply a few bodies!

πŸ“… SATURDAY 3 OCTOBER
⏰ From 10.00am
πŸ“ NOBM Clubrooms

Foreman Bam has apparently been making a list… which is slightly concerning. 😬

There’ll be jobs for ALL abilities β€” painting, cleaning, shifting, fixing, tidying, holding things, pointing at things, offering completely unsolicited building advice… the usual working bee stuff.

You don't need to stay all day. Even if you can spare an hour or two, get down and give the club a hand.

These are OUR clubrooms too, and with the number of Junior families who use the facilities throughout the season, it’d be awesome to see a good Junior Club crew there. πŸ’šπŸ’™

And apparently there’s a BBQ and a few beers afterwards for those who lend a hand… 🍻🌭

So chuck on the old clothes, bring some enthusiasm (tools optional, banter compulsory) and come help get a few jobs knocked over.

MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK!

πŸ’šπŸ’™ UP THE NOBM!

πŸ’šπŸ’™ GET BEHIND ONE OF OUR NOBM FAMILIES πŸ’™πŸ’š

One of our own could use a bit of the Green & Blue army behind them right now.

Many of you will know Ryan Salmon β€” NOBM player, Junior Club coach and all-round good bu**er. Ryan and his wife Flick, along with their family, have a challenging road ahead as Flick undergoes treatment for cancer.

A Givealittle page has been set up to help their family access the best treatment options available.

We know times aren't easy for everyone, but if you're able to donate, share the page, or simply send some support their way, it all counts.

Ryan gives plenty to our club and our kids β€” now it's our turn to get in behind his family. πŸ’šπŸ’™

πŸ‰ LEAGUE PLAYERS! THIS ONE’S FOR YOU! πŸ’™πŸ’š

Need some NOBM gear to get you sorted for the season? πŸ‘€

We’re thinking about putting together a pop-up gear sale for anyone who needs playing gear β€” but first, we need to know if there’s enough interest!

So… who needs gear?

If you’re a player (or have a player) who needs NOBM gear let us know in comments below!

πŸ’šπŸ’™ NOBM JUNIOR CLUB – OUR 2026 MAJOR AWARD WINNERS πŸ’™πŸ’š

As our Year 8 crew finish their final season of Junior Rugby and prepare to head off to high school, Prize Giving gave us the chance to recognise three young men with three very special NOBM Junior Club trophies.

These awards are about more than just what happens on the scoreboard. They recognise talent, commitment, character, leadership and what it means to represent the Green & Blue. πŸ‰

πŸ† THE CLUB’S MOST PROMISING PLAYER – JEREMIAH SENIO-MOMOISEA

Jeremiah has an incredible ability to inject himself into a game and create something from seemingly nothing.

Whether chiming into the backline, beating defenders or finding space, he was always looking for an opportunity to get his team moving forward.

Just as impressive was his work without the ball. Time and time again Jeremiah became the last line of defence, chasing down runaway attackers and making try-saving tackles that could completely change a game.

Those efforts don't always appear on the scoresheet, but they certainly didn't go unnoticed.

Jeremiah has a very bright rugby future ahead of him and we won't be surprised to see him continue to make his mark on Hawke’s Bay rugby.

Congratulations Jeremiah! πŸ‘

πŸ† BRENT CLEMENTS MOST CLUB SPIRITED PLAYER – FLYNN CONDIN

This trophy is named after a man who has Green & Blue running through his veins – Brent Clements – and recognises someone who demonstrates that same commitment to their team and club.

Flynn has become someone his coaches can always rely on. He leads by example, puts his team first and has played a big part in creating the culture within this group.

This season probably summed him up better than anything.

After breaking his foot, Flynn could easily have disappeared until he was fit to play again.

Instead, he kept turning up.

He was at trainings. He was at games. He helped the coaches, encouraged his teammates, kept standards high and wasn't afraid to pull the boys into line when required!

Flynn showed that being part of a rugby team isn't just about what you do when you're on the field β€” it's about the impact you have on everyone around you.

A very deserving recipient. Congratulations Flynn! πŸ’šπŸ’™

πŸ† O’CONNOR FAMILY JUNIOR SPORTS PERSON OF THE YEAR – NOAH β€œBUS” LEMALU

One of our Junior Club's major honours, this trophy recognises an outstanding young sportsman and is named after the O’Connor family, who gave many years of voluntary service to both the Junior and Senior Clubs and were an integral part of establishing our Junior Club at Park Island.

And this year's winner is certainly hard to miss!

Noah hasn't always had the same representative junior rugby opportunities as some others, largely thanks to the restrictions that come with his rather Hulk-like physique. πŸ˜‚

But once those restrictions disappear, we have absolutely no doubt we'll see Bus making his presence felt in school First XV rugby and representative teams in the years ahead.

What impressed his coaches most this season was his willingness to do absolutely whatever his team needed.

For years he's made his name in the forward pack, but when injuries and team balance meant he was needed in the backs this year, there wasn't a single complaint.

Wherever he played, he charged the ball forward, defended tirelessly and gave absolutely everything.

He never took a backward step. He led by example. He made the players around him better.

Quite simply, when Bus isn't on the field, we're a different team.

Congratulations Noah β€” our 2026 O’Connor Family Junior Sports Person of the Year! πŸ†

Three outstanding young men and three very deserving winners.

As Jeremiah, Flynn, (Noah - Still has a year left!!!) and the rest of our Year 8 crew now leave Junior Rugby behind, we wish them all the very best for high school and whatever comes next.

Hopefully this isn't the last time we see these boys receiving trophies in the Green & Blue!

πŸ’šπŸ’™ THAT’S A WRAP – NOBM JUNIOR RUGBY 2026! πŸ’™πŸ’š

What a way to finish another awesome season!

A packed clubrooms, a fantastic Prize Giving and a chance to celebrate all the kids who have proudly pulled on the Green & Blue this year β€” from our little Kindy Rippa legends right through to our departing Year 8 crew. πŸ‰

A MASSIVE thank you to everyone who made the 2026 season happen.

πŸ’š To our COACHES β€” thank you for the countless hours at trainings, Fridays & Saturday mornings, organising teams and helping our kids develop and enjoy their rugby.

πŸ’™ To our MANAGERS β€” thank you for somehow keeping everyone organised, informed and in roughly the right place at the right time!

πŸ’š To our PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS & FAMILIES β€” thank you for the early mornings, taxi service, muddy washing, sideline support, volunteering and everything else you do.

πŸ’™ And most importantly, to our PLAYERS β€” thank you for representing NOBM with pride, playing for your mates, having a crack and giving us plenty to cheer about every weekend.

Whether you scored 20 tries this year or spent most of Saturday morning picking grass and wondering when the oranges were coming out… you’re part of the Green Machine! πŸ˜‚πŸ’šπŸ’™

To our Year 8s heading off to high school β€” all the very best for what comes next. We hope this isn’t goodbye and that one day we’ll see plenty of you back pulling on the Green & Blue for Napier Old Boys Marist.

Thanks for an absolutely brilliant 2026 season and a great Prize Giving to finish it off.

Have an awesome summer, stay safe, and we’ll see you all again before we know it…
