✨ Te wiki o te reo Māori ✨

The beautiful thing about being involved in marching is meeting so many different people from different places! So we challenge you! Practice your mihi with this template, at your next training introduce yourself (even if you have known your teammates for awhile).

Marching Hawke’s Bay would like to extend our deepest condolences following the passing of David.

David was such a well-known and highly respected member of the marching community, who gave so much to the sport over many years. His knowledge, passion and contribution in many different capacities have left a lasting impact on marching and on the many people who had the privilege of knowing him.

From all of us here in Hawke’s Bay, our thoughts are with his family, friends, and the wider marching community at this sad time.

❤️

📣 WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🙌

We’re looking for volunteers to help make this NZ Marching Champs 2027 a huge success! There are lots of roles to fill.

📅 Registrations close: 30 September 2026

Volunteer roles will be allocated at the November Board Meeting, so we need expressions of interest early to assist with planning and budgeting.

✨ Growth Working Party ✨

You have probably seen this new party floating around on socials (and no it’s not a new trend), but it’s a dedicated group of fabulous people from all around Aotearoa finding ways to grow our sport.

Marching Hawkes Bay has their own little team behind the scenes discussing ideas and trying to make change happen! But this is where you come in. Past, present or even those possibly thinking about joining MHB we need your help.

Below is a google form - we need you to PLEASE fill it out. Why you ask? So we can see where we may be going wrong, what we are doing right and how to move forward ✨

The key word in all of this is GROWTH, so pretty please with a cherry on top - help us grow 🤞

The Marching New Zealand Growth Working Party has been established to better understand participation in our sport and identify opportunities to strengthen its future. Before making any recommendations, we want to hear directly from the people who know marching best: our participants, parents, coach...
