Welll ....
After loading up Friday night, Sat morning made the trip north to Blenheim for our opening meeting at Eastern States' speedway.
Left home at 8am and a stunning drive up the coast to a super hot day in Blenheim.
Jordan was so excited to do this meeting as practice went well, so he had high hopes .
Grand parade and this was basically our night as the car died again and poor Jordan was so fu***ng embarrassed 😳.
Race 1
3 maybe 4 laps it cut out again.
We went over everything and swapped to a brand new fuel pump .
Race 2
Got a few average laps, but again, dnf .
At this point, this wasn't fun anymore, and we were all bloody disappointed 😔.
We added a couple of big earth's and hard wired the pump .
Race 3
No difference again, dnf .
At this point, I'm ready to lose my s**t and had to go find a quiet place to calm down because I was just done . I didn't know how to fix it. Hell, I didn't even know what was going wrong, and it felt like I've let Jordan down because I made the decisions, yet I couldn't fix it .
Big thanks to Roy Large and Daniel Ham for the help and apologies for not being in the greatest of moods .
Long, quiet drive home and a bit of sleep 😴.
The next day, we went over everything with test light moving wires around to see if something is broken, but nothing seems out of place.
Got the car hot and reved s**t out of it then and it cut out .
It was like power just got turned off as pump fans. Everything turned off, and I had to wait about 4 minutes before anything worked again.
The dash lights stayed on as wired to off on key main power.
This is a win because now it has to be a power ign switch relay or something in that system 🤔
Hopefully, I will get a laptop on it tonight, and Simon will look over things .
He's been great even though I'm in full stress mode, but I guess anyone would be as this is so bloody annoying and heartbreaking after all the work and money.
The car looks to be quick enough, and Jordan is trying to pedal it very well, considering it's not nice having something turn off mid race, especially in traffic.
So all in all, it's not our night again, but surely we will find some luck soon .
In saying that, we have a new sponsor, but I'll do a post about that separately.
It's pretty easy to just give up right now but we know its only temporary and probably something really stupid so we will just keep working away because I believe we have a quick car and I have full confidence that Jordan is a driver because for his limited time in a seat he isn't far away from the guys who have done it for years .

Not a great start bloody thing stopped in Grand parade lap, then again, first race .
Swapped a fuel pump. Let's see what happens this time .
Seems to be running better, and fuel pressure is back to what it was .

Well, it's not our night, but hey, it wasn't for lack of effort.
We got some laps learned some more and Jordan can be super proud because hes definitely stating to peddle as some of the laps we got were pretty good for his first meetings back after the crash that ended his season last year .
Still no power steering, but it's on the list, haha .
If u want a laugh, listen to some of the comments about how a rotary works 🤔🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 absolutely no clue, haha 😆.

Well where do i start 🤔
As I voiced my annoyance about the computer problem the car spent the week with the team at sirfab changing the computer and re wiring the car .
Simon and the team did a fantastic job and dyno day Friday came and thats where things went alittle frustrating.
Now theres no information on running an rx8 on a link computer and as far as we know were the first to wire and run a link running a renesiss in an rx8 stand alone ???
Im happy to be proven wrong lol
Simon put a huge amount of effort and time into the car and come 10 pm firday night he messaged to say ... im sorry we have a big problem and he wasn't sure where we go . The guy was shattered as he puts huge effort into every customer he has so you can never say he doesn't give 100%
I didn't get a lot of sleep as I felt id let Jordan down and didn't know how to fix it .
Up at 3am work till 12 so got a call Simon was having another Crack at getting the car going so popped in . The thing still wasn't great and compression tests done that showed 120 psi evey face so it wasn't a motor problem thank God.
Standing there watching one of the team noticed the vacuum solenoids were closing at revs ?? Simon as far as the link was telling him they were open ???
One quick run with the old hand opening the ssv valve and boom hello theres all our horses back .
We found a one way valve was not were it was spose to be so giving no vacuum to hold the diaphragm open and the problem the whole time. .
With Simon giving it a tune we raced home got everything then picked up the car at 330 .
Mad rush to get fuel and get to the track only to fail on wheel nuts .
Id done the other set but at home in the shed .
Raced back got them finally car and Jordan ready to race 545 pm racing starts at 6 .
First race Jordan just tried to find his feet rembering his last race he made a mistake and hurt his rist so only got harf a season so sure didn't want to do that again.
Unfortunately an alternator issue and settings being a bit low for safety cut the car down so dnf .
Race 2
Basically the same but the laps he got showed some promise but dnf again as car cut off .
Race 3
Jordan wasn't going to do this but being off the back had nothing to lose really and he actually started to find a grove and was all over a couple of cars but white flag car shut down again dnf .
So not our night but we got the car to the track.
We got some laps and supported our chch mates so they got to race .
And the laps we got Jordan can be very proud with himself because it was a hell of a battle all day and night and he definitely showed pace .
On a brighter note we got willows ministock sticked for her and a huge thank u too Chelsea Williams for the support.
Hopefully get our issues sorted this week and will try again in blenheim next Saturday for our home track opening meeting.
Unfortunately the rx8 looks a little 2nd hand but we will get that sorted soon as we can't do everything.
Again Simon Urquhart your a bloody legend thank u we cant thank you enough.

We made it
I don't know how but with the help of some amazing people who at 10pm last night could of said na theres something wrong.
In the end a stupid one way value was the difference between 100hp and 180 .
More later but thank you to Simon Urquhart and lads at SURFAB for not giving up on us 👍

While Jordan's car is getting a new brain . The 2nd 4 port car is getting closer to cage time .
Got the rear guard just about ready to weld on .
Cage next for both cars, this one's Shane's.
It is not perfect yet but far closer than it was .
