We don't believe in doing lengthly cardio. Get your exercise done, have fun and get on with your life. With standard and deluxe bootcamps being run on 6 week cycles each Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the morning and afternoon you can choose what best suits you. Our deluxe bootcamps include additional flexibility and personalised nutritional advice.

I just wanted to remind you once again that the number on the scale ISN'T the only method of determining whether or not you are making progress.

Markers of improvement that aren't related to the scale are often referred to as NSV which is a Non Scale Victory ๐Ÿ‘

Solely focusing on a number will set you up for a let down if you donโ€™t hit that number, and if you do get to your ideal number on the scale, likely it wonโ€™t stay there. Our body weight fluctuates daily due to a number of reasons including the food we've eaten, stress, sleep, hormones, hydration etc.

Your happiness shouldnโ€™t depend on what the scale says, seek to feel a certain way and move towards that with more of your decisions that you make around fitness and nutrition.

Find your NSV and things that are wins for you so that you can learn to enjoy the weight loss (or strength gain!) journey ๐Ÿฅฐ

๐Ÿ‘‰Researchers believe that stretching before a workout can tire out your muscles before you get to the part where youโ€™re actually doing work!

๐Ÿ’กInstead itโ€™s a good idea to warm up before you work out by doing โ€œbigโ€ dynamic movements that mimic whatโ€™s going to happen you in your workout.

This can include brisk walking, calisthenics, movements like lunges, arm circles, and leg swings. (This is why we warm-up the way we do at Bootcamp!)

Metabolic resistance training (MRT) can be used as the cornerstone of your fat loss program, replacing steady-state low intensity exercise. MRT works every muscle group hard, frequently, and with an intensity that creates a massive metabolic disturbance that leaves the metabolism elevated for several hours post-workout.

MRT is a full-body workout using exercises that create the biggest metabolic demand. But it must be done in a rep range that generates lactic acid and pushes the lactic acid threshold. Training legs, back, and chest will burn more calories and increase your metabolism more than an isolated approach training just one of them - this why we have lots of full body movements in MetaPWR.

1. It builds muscle and strength. Humans lose 2kgs of muscle every decade after age 30.

3. There is evidence that resistance exercise helps lower moderately high blood pressure.

4. More strength can lead to fewer falls in the elderly.

5. Resistance exercise can raise metabolic rate, an important factor in maintaining body weight.

Metabolic resistance training is one of the best, most intense strategies for building muscle, burning fat, and improving fitness.

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™ I am sitting at the computer trying to think of something inspiring or motivating to say, at the same time as yawning and wanting to go and lie in bed and have a nap....

We all have those times where we just want to sit and do nothing and times where we are inspired or motivated by others.

The fact is, I am inspired every single day by the people that:

๐Ÿ’™Show up to training, to put themselves first, to take time out from kids and work, and are always there to support each other.
๐Ÿ’™ The people who are up at night with their babies and toddlers, but still make it a priority to show up to do something that fills their cup.
๐Ÿ’™The people who run their own business and are constantly juggling 50 000 balls and know that taking that 1 hour to move their body and just switch off their mind is what allows them to maximise their performance and manage their stress.
๐Ÿ’™ The women going through messy separations and show up with grace and a smile for the person standing next to them.
๐Ÿ’™The people who work full time and wake up early so they can do something for themselves before everything else gets in the way.
๐Ÿ’™The people who are struggling with children with broken limbs, or babies cutting 4 teeth at once, or returning to work, and they still choose to remind themselves how important it is for their health and wellbeing to step out of the house, off of the hamster wheel, and gift themselves that outlet.
๐Ÿ’™ These people that transform from feeling like they *should* go to the workout, finding and jumping on ANY excuse to cancel, to feeling upset when they genuinely can't make it, or doing a home workout at 7pm after a cranky day because they miss how good their morning workout made them feel.
๐Ÿ’™ The people that go from feeling lonely and unsupported to confident with an abundance of friends in their corner cheering them on as they embark on new chapters.
๐Ÿ’™ The people that start off feeling weak and become addicted to the feeling of being strong and capable.
๐Ÿ’™ The women that are anxious and worried that group training isn't for them that fall in love with the atmosphere, camaraderie and connection group training brings.
๐Ÿ’™ The women that understand, that give and receive, that show me that anything is possible and we are all worthy and we can all make time for what is truly important and what we value.

It isn't just me here to try to inspire and motivate, it is all of us. Because you probably don't even realise that something in you is inspiring the person next to you, even if you can't possible comprehend that there is any reason for it.

Life can be exhausting. So many of us have had personal and professional struggles. But we aren't alone, and I think that is where we can choose to find the power. By giving ourselves permission to be a part of a team, a community, a support network. By asking for help. By seeking a positive outlet that allows us to keep on going. By having somewhere we can go even on the days where we are just showing up but know we are accepted and welcome and where we can feel at ease to be whatever it is we are that minute, that hour, that day.

Life is full of chapters. Amazing ones. Brilliant ones. Excruciatingly painful ones. Confusing ones. Fun ones. Emotional ones. Challenging ones. Rewarding ones.

We need to embrace each and every one, because without dark there is no light. Without joy, there is no sadness.

Polarity.
And learning and giving ourselves permission to do the things that support us through it all is where we find our power, our true sense of being.

So that is where I will leave it today. An Amanda ramble, with no dedicated outcome, but just writing and letting it flow.

But mostly, if you are lacking inspiration, or motivation, take a look around you. Not in a comparison, judgemental way, but in a way that can open your eyes to the possibility.

Maybe you CAN make it work for you.
Maybe it IS possible for you.
Maybe there IS somewhere for you.
Most of the time we just need to let ourselves want it, accept it, and allow it.
And stop putting off until next week, next month, next year, what we could start today.
Because at any moment, life could change.

We spend so much time waiting, willing things to be different, aching for change, but we aren't prepared to go through the discomfort to make it happen.
