What a blast yesterday at the WKA Trials!
It was an awesome experience for the team and a great learning opportunity for us coaches to see how the process operates at this level.
We'll definitely be even more prepared next time and bring a bigger team with us.
We arrived ready to fight for spots on the team, but the day was actually focused on a series of tests designed to assess the mind, heart, and body through intense workouts, before finishing with sparring sessions to evaluate fight IQ and overall performance.
It was a privilege to be part of the experience and to go through it alongside our Umbrella and Skillset whānau. Plenty of level-ups for everybody 💯.
Now we wait for the trial results to see who has earned their place on the team. Best of luck to everyone who put themselves forward and gave it their all.
A massive shout out to Emilio and Undisputed MMA for organizing and delivering such a cool event and for the top knotch hospitality. Much love and respect to everyone involved.
See you all again soon. 🙏🥊

One week ago today, Blaize learned an important lesson in the game, one that tested him internally, but has ultimately made him stronger!
He could’ve taken the easy route and stepped away for a break. Instead, we sat down and broke down the fight properly. The good, the bad. That honest reflection has lit a different fire in him I have not seen before.
Ready and eager to wash the bad taste out of his mouth from the last fight, he’s chosen to turn it around quickly by entering the WKA Trials next weekend with the goal to represent Wanganui and Aotearoa on the world stage in Bali.
Not to prove anything to anyone else, but to prove to himself that he "CAN" do anything he sets his mind on.
Next weekend he is ready to fight as many fights needed to make the team and we are right here behind you brother blaize all the way 🙏

Fight game lessons. Win, lose, or draw we take them all on the chin and grow from them.
Proud of both our boys for stepping into the fire yesterday and representing the club and wanganui.
Blaizes result wasn’t the one we wanted, but this game tests more than just skill and it was the result we needed to learn from. It tests composure, heart, and mindset under pressure. Sometimes one moment can change a fight. We go back to the drawing board, learn from it, and come back stronger. We know what you’re capable of brother, and this will fuel you into the next chapter, all apart of the plan 💯
Jayden kicked into work horse mode, showed his heart and grit, constantly pressured his opponent, stayed composed, and fought hard right to the final bell utilizing his superior clinch. In our eyes he did enough to take it, but regardless of the decision, he represented himself and the team with pride. Strong performance brother. 💪
Respect to both opponents, and the coaching teams at Mana Muay Thai and Philly Smoke for the dance, we all had fun.
Massive thank you to our The Umbrella Way and the Resurrection - Umbrella Alliance whanau for being super supportive in helping out with the boys during camp and on fight day, it was a pleasure to work together and do battle alongside you all.
To Tamaki, and Ezekiel ka pai o korua mahi Brothers, you guys went out there and went to war, both of you had some hard hungry opponents and you gave it your all and left it all in the ring representing the city and Umbrella well, respect and catch up soon whanau 👆
Last but not least, shout out to Hydras Eltham for the awesome banter and for capturing some of our boys moments, we appreciate you guys, much love.
And so the journey continues, back to the drawing board, we will be back ☔🙏
Our sibling fight whanau The Umbrella Way and the Resurrection - Umbrella Alliance.
All weighed in and ready for war tomorrow!
Now we march alongside our brothers-in-arms into battle.
Let’s get it, whanau. Stand strong, fight proud, and leave it all in the ring, we will see you all tomorrow ☔👆🙏

Weigh-ins done and dusted. The boys are on track and ready to go 🧨
The hard training and preparation leading to this point are done 💯.
Now it’s time to refuel, rest the body, and lock in the mind. Tomorrow, we go to battle ⚔️

Our last fighter on the card, we have Blaize Milner representing Avenue Kickboxing out of Wanganui. Returning to the ring under Full Thai Rules, but this time he is bringing the full arsenal 💣
Blaize is one of the most talented fighters within the gym. Exciting to watch and equipped with a wide variety of weapons and styles, Blaize has the ability to disrupt and overwhelm anybody willing to stand in front of him.
Packed with aggression and a Fort Knox defensive forward-pressure style, he has a brilliant understanding of how to break somebody down and pick them apart. Fast, powerful, and technical, he is a hybrid unorthodox fighter who can switch the pace and style just as you think you’ve got him figured out.
Relentless and unforgiving in pursuit, Blaize knows how to finish a fight if the opportunity presents itself.
We are excited for this one!
Huge shout out to Filly Smoke, the coaching team, and the 323 whānau heading to the show. Ka kite ai I a koutou akuanei! 🙏

First up, representing Avenue Kickboxing out of Wanganui, we have Jayden Wallace making his debut under Full Thai Rules.
They say you should crawl before you walk… but Jayden never got the memo. He’s looking to run headfirst into the fray with relentless pressure, nonstop aggression, and top-notch cardio.
Jayden earned his spot on this card through hard work, discipline, and dedication to both his training and the art of Muay Thai. He’s never been one to take the easy route, and time and time again he’s proven himself to be one of the hardest-working members in the gym.
A true workhorse, Jayden brings pressure, heart, consistency, and a sh*t storm of problems not even a plumber would want to deal with.
For Jayden, this isn’t just a first fight, it’s the reward for every brutal session, every push through exhaustion, and every hour spent sharpening his craft.
On the 23rd of May, he’ll put all that hard work and sacrifice on display for your entertainment.
Big shoutout to the brothers Gazza and Mike at Mana Muay Thai for putting us on. We’re looking forward to the dance 🙏

Late night grinding, working the weapons and defence systems, locking horns with our fight whanau The Umbrella Way and the Resurrection and putting the boys fight game to the test with some in house head to head manuvers getting battle ready! 🥊🧨
After all that, we threw the fighters to the sharks and let nature take its course, conditioning the boys and preparing them for what's to come! 🦈
As coaches, we are super proud of all the fighters representing both teams. We have witnessed the progression, blood, sweat and tears that have been put to work and I speak for all us coaches that we couldn't be prouder.
