The fitness and kettlebell world has just lost a wonderful man in
I’m still in shock and deeply saddened to hear of his passing.
Steve was someone I looked up to in kettlebell training. He’s well respected around the world not only for his vast knowledge and expertise in kettlebells but also for his tenacity and humility.
This photo was taken back in 2010 in Bangkok where I did an IKFF certification by Steve. Steve always led by example and will actually demonstrate the full IKFF test requirements needed to pass the certification.
Grateful to learned from Steve and also assisted him on the few occasions that he taught in Singapore.
Thank you Steve for sharing your knowledge and also being an inspiration to many.
You will be missed.
Rest In Peace Steve.

Took part in the Singapore Hyrox Pro last Saturday. After having done the Men Doubles and Men Open categories in the last 2 races, I decided to challenge myself to have a go at the Pro category this time.
The difference was the heavier weights for the sled push, sled pull, farmers carry, walking lunges and wall balls. For a guy my size, it was quite a big step up. Trained for the heavier weights and told myself to take my time on race day.
My finish time wasn’t as fast as I hoped but I’m just glad that I took on the challenge and completed the race. It was only later on after the official results came out that I realised that I was one of the oldest men in the Pro category.
Highlight for me was having my family cheer me on at the race. Also great to meet some friends, at the start of the pro race!
Each race brings new experiences and learning points and I’m already looking forward to doing better in the next race! 💪

In life, we all go through hard times, times where our strength and fortitude are tried and tested. These tough times can come in many forms: going through a breakup, losing a loved one, business hardship, job loss or fighting to overcome a life challenge or obstacle. While during them, it can feel impossible to find your inner strength and motivation always remember, if you dig deep enough, it’s there.
Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through great hardships and decide not to surrender, that is a strength. All the adversity we’ve had in life, all troubles and obstacles, have strengthened us, motivated us. We may not realise it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best things in the world for us.

Learning to believe in yourself can be one of the best decisions you've made. Nobody wants to fail, lose or feel sub par. These feelings, however, should not stand in the way of chasing your dreams. It may be difficult to take a risk without knowing the outcome, but that's where believing in yourself comes into the picture. Especially in stressful situations it's easy to let self-doubt overshadow positivity. Life is about taking chances, taking risks, and believing that you are capable of achieving anything that you set your mind to.
At the end of the day you are capable of achieving anything you set your mind to. In times of strife it is important to remember the wise words of Theodore Roosevelt and to, "Believe you can and you're halfway there." 💪
