After a sold-out soft opening at Tampines Library on 6 and 7 June, our Sang Kancil and the Enchanted Forest location-based VR experience was officially launched at the Central Public Library on 10 June. Together with our co-creator MAYA DANCE THEATRE, we would like to thank all our guests for sharing the event with us. We hope you enjoyed your journey through the enchanted forest!
Thank you once again to UOB and National Arts Council Singapore for believing in the project and making it all possible! Thank you too to National Library Singapore for their venue sponsorship so that we can take the experience to children and families at seven public libraries across Singapore; and Enabling Village for hosting the experience on 11-12 July for persons with disabilities and their caregivers.
Catch Sang Kancil and the Enchanted Forest this weekend at Clementi Library or at other locations through 2 August 2026. Details here: https://www.dancexr.sg/sang-kancil-about

Two weeks to go before our latest arts-tech collaboration with MAYA DANCE THEATRE begins its tour of eight locations across Singapore from June to August 2026.
"Sang Kancil and the Enchanted Forest" is a 30-minute, multi-user, location-based virtual reality (VR) experience inspired by the adventures of the beloved mousedeer Sang Kancil from Southeast Asian folktales.
This free-roaming VR experience invites families and children 8 years and above to journey through a magical forest filled with immersive storytelling, interactive encounters, and captivating virtual environments.
Brought to life using motion capture, 3D animation, and VR technology, every gesture, leap, and interaction was carefully crafted by dancers from MAYA DANCE THEATRE and DADC who performed by blending traditional influences with contemporary choreography.
The VR experience is free but pre-registration is recommended. Walk-ins are welcome but are subject to availability and waiting times. Find out more and sign up today at the event microsite: https://www.dancexr.sg/sang-kancil-about

Echoes of Forbidden Hill is an exuberant and poignant tale about the history of Fort Canning Hill told entirely through dance. A remarkable feat by that deserves to be enjoyed by more people both in Singapore and abroad. Congratulations!
