Santiam CrossFit was born November 23, 2015. We were formerly known as Santiam Barbell Club. We are a growing CrossFit box with passionate coaches and members. Hey SXF Fam!
In our most recent podcast with Coach Melissa (go listen now!) they talk about how fitness is a journey/lifestyle and not a destination! The same is also said for nutrition.
We all want to see gains in the gym, speeds increase, body transformations and overall increase in health. That’s the whole reason we drag ourself to the gym when binging Netflix and chips and salsa sound way better.
Heidi is a prime example of how rewarding a consistent lifestyle of nutrition and fitness can be. She is a Santiam OG, an avid 5amer and one of the most dedicated humans I know! For those of you that don’t know, she had surgery on her back last year and because of her activity level prior, she was able to recover in record time. She is a grandma to four kiddos 5 and younger and can keep up with them sometimes better than their own parents! She is consistently making gains in the gym that are specific to her own goals: moving safely and continuously.
None of this happens overnight. Making lifestyle changes is tough. It requires an understanding that if you’re simply training for a healthy life, strict counting down to the ounce doesn’t matter. It requires grace for yourself when you have a set back in your goal or your progress. This all goes toward the idea that this is a journey, not a destination. Continue to improve and grow as a human and do so with all of your amazing Santiam CrossFit family along side of you!
