Last weekend, more than 16 PAX from at least 4 regions converged on White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico for the annual Bataan Memorial Death March. With both running and rucking (35 lb) categories, and with military and civilian divisions, Bataan has become one of the nation's premier endurance events.

This event is held each year to honor the heroes who were surrendered in the Philippines on April 9, 1942, at the outset of World War II, and forced to march in the scorching heat 65 miles over treacherous terrain. Thousands of Americans, to include members of the 200th Coast Artillery, New Mexico National Guard, and Philippine Soldiers died along the route and later in POW camps.

The event is typically a 26.2 mile ruck through the New Mexico desert. Although shortened to ~16 miles this year due to extreme heat and limited medical support, the event was a test of our fitness and an opportunity for fellowship between PAX from around the country.

Just some good regional fun last Tuesday with a Q-Jack and rolling in with THUNDERSTRUCK (burpee for every "thunder")...6 of us from sneakily made it across town to hi-jack the Q at .the_foundry because he signed up at both locations on the same day..."Look at me, I am the Q now!" 🀣

As we approach the end of the year, I need to boast on the men of F3 ABQ for all the ways they have given back to their community in 2025. F3 is more than a men's workout group; we're training men to become better leaders, and how better to build those leadership muscles than by tackling tough challenges in our community.

β€’ F3 ABQ participated in the American Lung Association's Fight for Air Stair Climb at the Clyde Hotel. This fundraiser for the American Lung Association supports their mission to "save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease."
β€’ F3 ABQ, in conjunction with our GORUCK club, participated in an annual Rucksgiving challenge and gathered non-perishable food items for Roadrunner Food Bank. At each of four rucking AOs, PAX loaded their rucks with food donations, carried them more than 3 miles, and ultimately donated 202 pounds of food to help Roadrunner in their mission to provide nourishing food to New Mexicans through vibrant community partnerships and passionate public and private support.
β€’ F3 ABQ participated in Wreaths Across America Day at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque, while also serving as a sponsorship group for that location. PAX and their families laid wreaths at the graves of veterans, supporting Wreaths Across America's mission: "Remember the fallen. Honor those who serve. Teach the next generation the value of freedom."
β€’ F3 ABQ played shadow host to the Travis Manion Foundation's 9/11 Heroes Run/Ruck in Albuquerque. Teaming up with our friends at Team Bravo and BFit505, this 5k ruck raised funds to help the foundation empower veterans and families of the fallen to strengthen our nation's character.
β€’ For the third year in a row, F3 ABQ volunteered at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta merchandise tents. Funds raised at this event supported Feed NM Kids in their mission to eradicate childhood hunger in New Mexico.
β€’ PAX from F3 ABQ participated in the Krampus Ruck Challenge, organized by QCRC and Cincinnati RWB (and others joined in for the associated WOD). In addition to a great fitness challenge, this event also supported the Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank, a program of COVERD Greater Cincinnati.

The men from F3 ABQ are honored to help Feed NM Kids get food to children in New Mexico who have need. Since 2023, and thanks to the generosity of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, we have been supporting this cause through an annual 3rd F volunteer event.

✨ We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of F3 Albuquerque and the Balloon Fiesta team. Once again this year, these amazing men volunteered their time working the Balloon Fiesta merchandise tents and chose Feed NM Kids as the organization they wanted to support. Their hard work and dedication resulted in a donation of $1,250 β€” funds that will directly help us put more food into the hands of children experiencing food insecurity across New Mexico.

We are truly thankful for partners who step up for our kids and continue to make a meaningful impact in our community. πŸ™ŒπŸ’™

Last weekend PAX from F3 ABQ joined together with several local rucking groups (F3 ABQ Ruck Club, BFit505, and Team Bravo) for the GORUCK "Glow Ruck" Monthly Callout. Outfitted with glow sticks, participants rucked between 5 and 20 miles. The course was divided into four 5-mile segments which each looped back to our starting point. PAX could join in for one segment to earn the patch, or up to four segments for a 20-mile adventure that ran from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Seventeen participants completed the challenge with three human PAX (and one canine honorary PAX) completing the full overnight ruck. GORUCK

The F3 ABQ Ruck Club took over the AO All Sick run/ruck this morning for the Cooler Ruck. Two coolers packed with coffee and ice plus some bonus weight plates (who thought that would be a good idea? 🀣), rucked 3 miles at a 18'30" avg pace. Then enjoyed the coffee as the sun came up over the mountains
