🚨 Metro 2 First Responder Relay – Sign Up Now! 🚨

On July 16, 2022, we lost four incredible heroes in a tragic helicopter crash while they were returning from a firefighting mission. To honor their legacy — Undersheriff Larry Koren, Lt. Fred Beers, Deputy Michael Levison, and Rescue Specialist Captain Matthew King — the Metro 2 First Responder Relay was created.

🏃‍♂️ This isn’t just a race — it’s a 67-mile relay from Santa Fe to Albuquerque, where teams of 20 first responders push through challenging hills, scenic roads, and nonstop grit. Each leg is 3–4 miles, but the course will test even seasoned runners.

📍 Race Day: Saturday, September 20, 2025
📍 Start: DPS Academy, Santa Fe, NM
⏰ Opening Ceremony: 6:30 AM | Start: 7:00 AM

💙 All proceeds go to Stand True 4 Blue, supporting first responders and their families.
