And last but not least of the musicians joining us tomorrow evening for our Benefit Concert: Amherst Ballet’s very own music director! 🎉 Violist Geoffrey Archambeau is known for bringing together superb artists for innovative programs in new places. His career has featured concerts with world-class artists in Europe and the United States, and his chamber music partners have included members of the Enso and Jupiter string quartets. Prior to joining Amherst Ballet, Geoffrey produced highly-regarded programs in California, Pennsylvania, and here in Western Mass with Conway Fine Arts, ranging from ‘Chocolates and Sardines - performances of Dvorak string quartets accompanying short stories adapted and staged in a horse barn by ex-Hollywood film director Michael Haley - to Bach and Ballet, J.S. Bach’s cello suites performed with original choreography by Mikayla Archambeau at Hawks and Reed Performing Arts Center in Greenfield.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow night at 6:30pm! You may remember this tutu, which featured in the $22 for Tutus spring appeal. Its materials are too fragile for more performances, so we are going to keep it as part of our collection of vintage tutus, and we are working on building a new tutu inspired by it for use in future performances.

Come see the new one in process and learn about how tutus are made (!!) at our end-of-season party and costume exhibit, June 14, 2:00pm, 65 Sunderland Road in Amherst.

Costume restoration made possible in part by support from Amherst and South Hadley Local Cultural Councils.
