Today, May 27, 2026, is National Senior Health & Fitness Day, the City of Apopka is proud to highlight our senior wellness programs designed to promote healthy, active living in our community.

Participants can enjoy programs such as Zumba and Chair Exercise, which help improve strength, flexibility, balance, and overall wellness while encouraging social engagement and community connection.

Apopka’s Memorial Day Service 2026 will be held on Monday, May 25, 2026 at 11 AM at Edgewood/Greenwood Cemetery Veterans Memorial

The City of Apopka and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 10147 would like to invite the public to join us, as we honor the lives and legacy of our fallen military heroes at the Veterans Memorial (141 South Edgewood Dr., Apopka, FL).

Reminder: City Hall and offices will be closed on May 25, 2026 for Memorial Day 2026.

Join the City of Apopka Parks and Recreation Department on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 10 AM for a ribbon cutting ceremony honoring Tina James, a tenth-grade student at Apopka High School, for her Eagle Scout Project at Doctors Dog Park.

Tina’s project added a new dog obstacle course to help enhance the park for local pets and families. Join us in recognizing her outstanding contribution to the community.

Please see the weather update below for the Saturday Sounds concert scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026, featuring Fire Rhythms Band.

Event Update: Saturday Sounds Canceled

Due to a tornado watch currently in effect for the area until 6:00 PM, along with heavy rain and a wind advisory, the Saturday Sounds concert scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026 featuring Fire Rhythms Band has been canceled.

Out of an abundance of caution, and to ensure the safety of residents, staff, and performers, this is the most appropriate decision.

At this time, no rescheduled date has been established, and it has not yet been determined if the event will be rescheduled.

Please share this update to help spread the word.

Join the City of Apopka for our free concert series, Saturday Sounds, at the Apopka Amphitheater from 5 PM to 7 PM on select Saturdays this spring. Be sure to bring your blankets and lawn chair!

Don’t forget to register for Spring 2026 Youth Soccer, registration has been extended until January 12, 2026!

Sign up for either our Co-ed or Girls Division. Practices are scheduled to begin the week of Monday, February 16, 2026. Games are scheduled to begin on Friday, February 27, 2026 and conclude on Saturday, April 25, 2026

The league is for children of all skill levels, ages 4 to 14. Children must be 4 prior to September 1, 2025 and may not turn 14 prior to September 1, 2025.
