Happy halloween from Chicago Swim School! 🎃

We're open today, so come swim before the candy hunt! Trick-or-treating starts this afternoon, which makes a morning lesson the perfect warm-up!

It's been a fun week around here. Our Mokena team had a blast handing out treats at Trunk or Treat last weekend, and our Arlington Heights team has been showing up in costumes for lessons all week long. We're not sure who had more fun, the swimmers or the staff!

Co-owner Buffy went to the USSSA Conference last week. Best surprise was running into Coach Katie! She taught at CSS Mokena from 2017 to 2022, then moved to South Carolina, and she's still teaching kids to swim! Seeing her there was a highlight of the week!

Another proud moment: sitting at the awards banquet table with Lynn Ledford as she received the Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest honor USSSA gives.

Being part of the swim school community is a big part of how we keep growing as your hometown swim school.

Some of our favorite swimmers haven't even started walking yet.

A lot of CSS swim journeys start in StarBaby, our baby program. Little ones get comfortable in the water with a parent right beside them and an instructor guiding each step. There's kicking, floating, songs, and plenty of splashing along the way.

When kids start early, the water feels familiar to them and is a head start that takes them into every level after.

Happy 6 years to our very own Jennifer!!

Jennifer has been part of our Mokena Customer Support team for six years, and she also teaches our CPR classes! She's also our go-to sub, the person who steps in whenever we need her.

Right now she's home soaking up time with her brand new baby, her first! We're so happy for her and can't wait to see her back.

Jennifer, thank you for six years of jumping in to help. Congratulations on both milestones!

Showing up matters more than you might think. 💙

About 88% of our swimmers master a new skill within 8 lessons. For swimmers who come consistently, that jumps to 93%.

Every lesson builds on the one before it, so a missed week means a little catching up. Life happens! When it does, you can book a makeup in the Parent Portal or the CSS app.

And if your group class swimmer hasn’t mastered a new skill in 8 lessons, the extra lessons are on us.

Water Table Time is every Tuesday at our Mokena location!

10:00 to 11:30am, no cost, and open to everyone. You don’t have to be enrolled with us, so grab a friend and come splash.

Last week we celebrated three years with Coach Mary! 🎉

Three years of showing up, of swimmers who light up when they see her on deck, and of parents who ask for her by name.

Chicago Swim School co-owner Rob Jacobsen has been honored with the Professionalism Award from the United States Swim School Association.

The award recognizes integrity, consistency, and the kind of character that earns trust over time. Rob does what he says he will do and he makes decisions based on what is right rather than what is easiest.

Over the past year he has focused on strengthening operations and completely redesigning our instructor training program, thinking through every part of how instructors are developed so they are confident, consistent, and exceptional in the water. Most of that work happens behind the scenes, and all of it shows up in your child’s lesson.
