People ask me all the time what it was like to start a business.

The truth is, I started Guild Properties because I wanted the freedom to build a life on my own terms. I wanted to combine two things I love most: construction and design.

What I didn’t expect was this.

I never imagined I’d have the privilege of helping families reimagine the places where they’ll celebrate birthdays, host holidays, raise children, grow older, and make memories for years to come.

Construction is hard. Really hard.

It’s full of decisions, challenges, problem-solving, and moments that test you.

But then you look back at the homes you’ve transformed, the clients who trusted you, and the team you’ve built… and you realize every challenge was worth it.

These aren’t just renovation projects.

They’re pieces of people’s lives.

And I still can’t believe I get to do this for a living.

Luxury condo renovations require a completely different way of thinking.

Unlike a single-family home, we’re working within existing conditions that simply can’t be changed—concrete slabs above and below, structural columns, building systems, and strict building requirements all influence every design decision we make.

Even the framing is different.

While most residential homes are framed with wood, high-rise condominiums rely on metal framing to meet commercial building standards and integrate with the building’s existing systems.

It’s one of the many reasons why renovating a luxury condominium requires careful planning, technical coordination, and a team that understands the complexities behind the walls.

What they don’t see is everything happening behind the scenes to make it possible.

Coordinating building management.
Scheduling elevator reservations.
Working around strict construction hours.
Protecting common areas.
Managing deliveries.
Passing multiple inspections.
Coordinating dozens of trades inside a shared building where hundreds of people still have to live their lives.

A luxury condominium renovation isn’t simply about building beautiful spaces.

It’s about orchestrating hundreds of moving pieces without disrupting the entire building.

Somehow a “quick walkthrough” turns into reviewing framing, solving three unexpected problems, answering nonstop calls, responding to emails while squatting in a corner of your job site, making material decisions, skipping lunch, and wondering how it’s already 4:30.

No two days are ever the same.

And honestly… we wouldn’t have it any other way.

A somewhat unpopular opinion:

I don’t really believe in work-life balance.

At least not in the way it’s often portrayed.

As an entrepreneur, there are seasons when I work long hours, push hard toward a goal, meet deadlines, solve problems, and give my business everything I’ve got. Then there are seasons when I intentionally slow down, travel, spend time with family and friends, and recharge.

For me, balance isn’t something I achieve every day. It’s something I create over time.

Some weeks require more of me, actually ALL of me. Some weeks allow me to give more to myself.

I’ve stopped chasing the idea of perfect balance and started focusing on alignment instead, being fully present in whatever season I’m in. Right now I am in a season of growth and expansion in my business, so needless to say a lot of me is required. So I am very intentional with what I’m choosing to do with my time. My life has become extremely curated because time is the resource that I cannot replenish, I cherish it and value it, so I only fill it with experiences and people that are truly important to me.

That’s what has worked for me.
